I think the concern about Hanneberry is a over the top. His season last year was good, but it was based on a series 7-8 really good games rather than being consistent all year. Personally, I think people have overrated where he was at in his career.
Agreed. He has yet to prove how good he is for mine. It's all about consistency over time. A player who was great in 2012, then was good without being exceptional in 2013 and waned over the year, and is now running around half arsed in 2014, should be ringing alarm bells. Perhaps winning a premiership so young went to his head.

He went to hard to early.
I'll go as far as saying Mummy hasn't much to offer GWS because when they start pressing for finals, he won'y be there.
He'll be done by round 15. He'll get the 3 Brownlow vote for the 1st 3 rounds of next year as well but he is done.
We won our flag but he has been terrible in our finals games over the last few years due to fitness.

Very good tonight. Hopefully somebody had a word and told him to buck the **** up because he's been atrocious so far this season. I'm hoping this is the turning point as Hanners, McVeigh and Shaw, all terrible so far this year, actually performed tonight.

Better in the second half, think he stopped doing the piddly handballs more as the game went

Got to second this.

I thought he was invisible in the first half, be interesting to see the replay. I distinctly recall in the third he ran a line and got a handball, carried for a bit and delivered. It was conspicuous because I could not recall him run and carry all year and we desperately need that from him.

Must be me, but Im a little hesitant to entertain the possibility of letting go one the games's future stars based on 4 bad games and some gossip.

Amazing how willing some are to let go of an AA midfielder based on a hollow rumour.

How did the Tippett rumours leak into this thread? People really believe he'd request a trade after the drama of his last move?

Boy I'm happy I avoided coming here for a week. Crazy is only good in small doses.

Im always a little surprised at how negative or over-reactive some supporters are here. Ive been told in no uncertain terms to just let them be, so now I am learning to shut my mouth. I like that everyone is very passionate, but imo there is a point where 'fanatic' becomes 'erratic', and no good can come from it. I spose thats what the greatest sport in the world does to people :thumbsu:

Hannebery was very good tonight and we can only hope that all the talk is only talk. If the rumours are true, then we will no doubt make the most of the trade and top up where we need to.

This thread is nut's. not for being a rumours thread but the fact that the rumours that have weight such as Jack's are glossed over in favour of a romour that doesn't make sense.

as for tippett it's 50/50 he will even get a new contract if he cant come back from this injury and have an Extended injury free run.

I am fascinated by the KJ rumour. As co captain are some suggesting that he doesnt gel with team mates? This seems outrageous. However there is precident with Sam Mitchell and friction at the Dawks. He was personally disliked by many players but he stayed and accepted a downgrade as Captain. Can anyone provide facts demonstrating disharmony with KJ?

Chinese whispers....

I'll focus on tbe footy thanks. Looks like most of the players on Rumour watch are doing the same.

Hannas, Macca, JPK, Teddy, Shaw, McGlynn and Nick Smith all had their best games of the season last night. Kizza was up and about despite the hardest tag in footy. And I'm quietly loving the growing chemistry between Buddy and Jetta.

We were all within our rights to tear strips off the boys for their efforts in thr first month.

But if they play like ladt nihht for the second month all these "Internal troubles at Sydney" rumours will evaporate *knock wood*

How does the rumour about Kieran Jack have weight beyond the fact he's a good player?

Rumour: I overheard someone in the hot dog line saying Tony Lockett believes he retired too hastily the second time and is training in anticipation of entering this years draft. Swans are going to trade Tippet, Hanners and Jack to the team who finishes last to secure the first pick and thus get plugger back to the club. Horse reckons Franklin needs a traditional lead out full forward in the team so he can play the high half forward role.

Just a rumour at this stage, but sounded legit.

Opposite from what I heard, the players love him and want him as captain. its the brass he doesn't gel with and that's why he wasnt notified about buddy. They believed KJ would notify the playing group immediately.

I still think it was wrong from the club to not include the leadership group in the Buddy decision, basically put McVeigh on a higher pedistool than everyone else.

Looked like a confidence issue, he was hard enough and like Franklin, once he started getting his hands on the ball and started hitting targets, he grew into the game. Was immense in the last shutting down Fyfe, especially the last 10 minutes.
