Looked for the video thread but couldn't find it. Just love the way DJ presents/conducts himself in front of the camera. Had some interesting things to say during the interview and worth a look so enjoy fellow Tiger heads,

I'll be interested to hear from you guys, me I've always liked the way DJ has gone about it and sounds like he isn't letting the BF go to his head. He seems to think he has limited time left so he's going to give his all and enjoy the time he has left at the RFC, just a quality individual :thumbsu:

He's only 27, he has plenty of time left if he wants to go on and can maintain his form...

I agree Tigerrific, it's just some of the things he was saying in the interview, I interpreted them to mean he felt maybe he didn't have a lot of time left.

I think that reflected his mind set last year TJ - with last yeas result he can see there is a bit more future there for him.

Professionally handled interview and good to see our best and fairest with a level head. But, Im going to play Devils Advocate here. Why does it seem like DJ is settling for mediocrity? "Just doing what he's told to do","Not turning the world alight","JUST a journey player that was done what is asked". Yes, every team needs those players that do the 1% but when you have a mindset of yeah Im happy just doing that and being remembered for that isn't it a little bit of a defeatist attitude. Shouldn't he be giving 110%!

Oh on a side note: Journalists WILL YOU PLEASE STOP ASKING ABOUT THE FINALS LOSS LAST YEAR. OF COURSE IT HURT, YES IT WILL FIRE US UP ISNT IT OBVIOUS?

I think that attitude is often used as a strategy for when you know people think you're not that good - you get in first and admit it upfront and it makes everyone like you.

He beat Cotchin, Deledio and Martin for the B+F, so he wants to show he doesn't think he's better than those type of players, which he's not. It's good PR and shows he hasn't got a big head after a good season... Which is a good thing.

It really did surprise me finding out that Jackson is one of the smartest players in the AFL after seeing what he did on the field sometimes in past seasons :P
