Injury Daniel Kerr Injury: How big a loss?

I think we played well without him last year? Not sure on the exact statistics. Nonetheless it's a big loss.

We did play well without him and Cox.
I think it's not as big a loss as seems. I would like the youngsters to grab hold that midfield like they did last year. Kerr will always be a spark and star so to put him into a good young midfield when he is fit. To put him in when the team was going well wouldve been dynamite at the end of last year. He leads by example with the hard ball but overall don't think he is a great teacher of the youngsters.

Some terrible calls in this thread. Even if Kerrs not playing well he ALWAYS takes the number 1 tag which is a huge advantage to the second, third and fouth next best mids in our side. Also the call to bring Hurn into the midfield is rubbish as well. Clearly he is a born backmen who steadies the ship coming out of defense. Even though he would do well I think his massive kick and great decision making would be waste in the midfield.

I think a lot of people underestimate the effect of taking the hard tag. Without Kerr, they will either have an extra running mid or put the tag on someone like Priddis.

tend to agree with most others here..
its a tangible loss, esp. as woosha reckoned he was close to 'turning it on'..
so who gets the number 1 tag now - priddis? (if so how does he handle a top tag,and if he's taken out of the equation, how much will that impact the results)

looking at the big picture..i guess in a way, theres an upside..we get to see other players come in (stevens?)..in kerrs absence, they will have gelled more as a midfield and team;he can get refreshed(again) for mid season..(the upsides are getting thin..)

Bad luck to Kerr. Sad to see him out after he seemed set to get over his injuries and have a good year.

Looks like the tag goes to Priddis now. Not such a big deal really, there will be less blind snaps out of packs straight to the opposition! Can't believe how many times Priddis does it - hasn't he learned to handball to someone in a better position who can see downfield? Gazza never blindly snaps out of packs.

Actually he has if you botherb watching closely.

Just after mid way through lastb season he stopped hacking the ball blindly by foot out of packs and handballed more.

Did it a couple of times this year but has stopped doing at as much.

After the mid season break I think.

It sucks. But I reckon this will be good to get Masto back in the middle and put a FORWARD in the FORWARD LINE!

i thought Pridda was really good last night.

When U say Gazza do you mean Ablett jr? Maybe he doesnt kick it blindly because he has guys like Bartel, Corey, Selwood and Ling in there with to hlep - ever thought of that?
Priddis was great last night.

But part of that was sheer luck that his no-look kicks actually went to our teammates most times.

masto /shuey to midfield and put stevenson on a HFF and hams in a pocket. that makes me want a pizza pocket. i really could go one of those pizza pockets. maaaaaaaa the pizza pockets! we want them now!

Huge loss. Will really notice he's not there. As well as coming back into a bit of damaging form(always makes something happen when he has it), he always takes the number one tagger which free's up other guys like priddis to get a bit more space, now with him out, the others will feel the affect. You guys who chose the middle option obvoiusly know nothing bout football

John Ralph from the Herald says Kerr has "dodged a bullet" and should be out for "just 4-6 weeks", a month less than I expected. Round 10 or there abouts return according to them at this time.

Edit - Just read the previous page of this thread, someone has already said 4 to 6. Sorry.
