Injury Daniel Kerr Injury: How big a loss?

Massive loss. The upside is it gets some games into our kids, but that's a very optimistic silver lining... Kerr hasn't been lucky with injury lately.

You make him sound like such a great bloke, the truth is he is a w@nker, and looks out only for himself. Yes he has been great for us on the field in the past, but I don't respect the bloke, and I don't respect his football of late.

He stayed with the club because he got a 5 year deal worth an absolute fortune, I was against the deal back then and everything he has done on the field since has justified my concerns.

Would be good to see how much Kerr has received per game played (which he has done very little of recently) compared to those guys you have named who are not on the same wicket.

After this next stint on the sidelines he will prob be earning $200k per game...

Realistically we won't be making the eight this year so I think it will be a blessing that he misses games so we can develop our midfield.

Understand your point's and respect what you think of him as a person, all good.

My point is (good bloke or not) he could of pissed off when the shit was hitting the fan. Your right, he's no saint but this is footy not a popularity contest. Im sure Collingwood would ans Port Adelaide would have been offering a better than average deal to him, do you agree?

Anyway, i support the bloke because of his loyalty to the club, it's just a little strange that people seem to be of the thought get rid of him since he got injured, it's kicking him while he's down.

I don't think he could of got a better deal at Pies or Port, we would have had much more room in our salary cap than Pies, and no doubt Port.

I felt at the time we were paying him champion rates and didn't think he would return to his peak, I was happy to trade him for 2 first round picks.

He appears very injury prone now and not sure whether that has to do with how he has gone about his footy (which I respect) or whether he is too big now (which I think has been detrimental to his pace and why he can't break a tag and impact).

All said and done we have paid him for five years, but personally I don't think he will play out the rest of his contract here, i.e he will break down before the 5 years is up or won't be good enough to get a game later on.

The fact is 2010 is going to be another wasted year, and I hope they have seriously front loaded his contract so it doesn't hurt as in the future.

But I am also a big believer in karma and I reckon this guy will be paying for past indiscretions for some time to come which will directly affect our footy club.

Huge loss. I don't think he was playing as bad as some on here claim. Certainly not yet back to his best, but he was still contributing solidly. It will really hurt in that it will expose our kids to taggers way earlier than they should have to deal with them. On the plus side, maybe this will accelerate their development till when he gets back.
