Woosha & MC rolled the dice with a ASelwood, Kerr, Butler, Waters this year.

Someone has to take the fall for keeping 4 senior players on the list that haven't contributed anything.
Have they given us anything apart from one game here and there ( on HUGE money) has also prevented the young kids getting a game -

Its an absoulute disgrace , Its not bad luck, its BAD player management and
someone should be sacked for it, No other AFL team has been so badly managed this year.

Really? Haven't been following the Melbourne saga?

Not sure which of those four players are on HUGE money either. Kerr might be, if he's on a backended contract as a result of taking less than he's worth during the glory years.

Why would they go with Kerr? Priddis is extremely durable, younger and while he's less of a game breaker he's more reliable. I'm at the stage where i really don't care if Kerr plays on in 2014.

In that role you need guys who can change games; the decline of Kerr this year has had a direct impact on our drop in performance. The decline of Priddis would be a raging positive ....

That's why.

Waters was AA last season so I don't know what you are thinking there. The others are all contracted, you can't just cut contracted players without paying them out, and we have this thing called the salary cap to think about.

Kerr played well in games last year. Supporters would have been screaming if they cut him last year! People are still saying he should be played, despite clearly being injured/ unfit.

Other BAD decisions -( just off the top of my head )

Flogging Nic Nat - hes been mis-managed for 2 years.Allowing his groin to heal naturally with rest was the best first option, it didn't work, shit happens
Shuey playing with a bad hamstring ( out for another 3-4 weeks)he had three weeks off with the hammy and trained well prior to the Swans game, of course they would play him.
Sinclare was dropped back to rookie list when Nic Nat clearly needed time in Wafl for fitness.hazy, but pretty sure Sinclair was promoted for Wellingham who came back in R6 from LTI. Therefore Sinclair had to return to the rookie list. The same people complaining about Kerr playing WAFL now, would have been saying the match committee were stupid if they played Nic in the WAFL then.
Waters is so injury prone - should of been given time at WAFL level to prove his reliability.he has been injury prone his whole career, was injured in the WAFL a few years ago and spent 18 months getting back. Playing him at the lower level doesn't mean he won't get injured.
Keeping Wilson In WAFL ( comes in for 2 weeks ) This kid is the shinning light, needs game time.Agree would have liked him to get more time, but how tall do ou want our back line to be?
Playing Brown(Spud) , when our back line is already too tall, just to ensure he stays or improves his trade value.( you cant play Brown, Macca , Glassy on the same line- too slow & go to ground too easy)he needs to play so we can see who he has developed into at this stage of his career, hasn't been that bad. The back line has worked for the most part.
Gaff should of been sent to WAFL to get better , because clearly hes HEAD **cked ATM.I think it was the right thing to keep Gaff in the team. He has been getting better as the year goes on, and because of our other midfield woes, has been getting time in the middle. Good for his development.

Just a small list, but im sure theres more stuff ups by the MC & Woosha this year,
Bad decisions end careers and break team harmony, exactly whats happened this year, whos
accountable for it ????????? anyone want to answer this one please......................
It is easy to know all the answers in hindsight. What's happened this year is a shit load of injuries in the area of the ground where we can least afford to have injuries.

Most weeks we have had four or five changes to the team, it is very hard to get any sort of continuity when this happens.

It's disappointing, but we suck it up, get our players right and hopefully give it a crack next year!

Pretty sure Asel is on huge money.

let's consider the facts for a minute...

FACT: Kerr is reached a level of sustained excellence in the past that none of other mids have even come close to
FACT: Kerr was amongst our best players in our most recent finals, as well as other regular season games vs top 4 teams
FACT: Kerr is the ONLY player Woosh has publicly put the blowtorch on this year, and probably EVER

maybe it is a strategic public roast? maybe it will get a better level of performance out of Kerr?

or maybe it is completely unwarranted and will our leave best big game player and most decorated midfielder disillusioned with the club?

what I still can't cop is why Kerr gets singled out when we have seen SO MANY sub par performances from so many players this year.

Kerr was asked on CH7 last night what he though of the comments and just said it was something Woosha has been telling him all year and is working on improving it.

i'm sure Woosha gives ALL our players feedback both positive and negative almost every day.

the question is why has he chosen to put the torch on Kerr publicly?

Kerr is not covering enough ground during matches. Worsfold makes him play in the twos and highlights the reasons publicly.

Beau Waters consistently turns the ball over, game after game. Worsfold keeps picking him and does not utter one negative comment about it publicly.

It's very hard to cop as a supporter.

West Coast coach John Worsfold says that he needs more from veteran midfielder Daniel Kerr. Kerr was available for selection this week but didn't do enough at training during the week and played in the WAFL.

"Really his performances the previous couple of games he played for us he was struggling to play the footy we need him to play," Worsfold said yesterday in his press conference.

"While he does his good stoppage work other players are having to pick up the slack around the ground.

"So Daniel needs to be up and being able to run and play offensive and defensive footy as well as just be good at stoppages."

Kerr gathered 31 possessions in the WAFL for South Fremantle but was also reported and is no certainty to return to the team this Sunday against the Bulldogs.

Complete disgrace.

People should be sacked for this

I am only going by an article earlier in the year in the Sunday times where they were saying what players were getting and i was stunned at how much he was getting paid to see if we could afford Buddy Franklin. You would imagine we would free up a fair bit letting A Selwood and Embers go.

Because he's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So, we'll hunt him, because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian. A watchful protector. A Dark Knight.

Waters kicked more clangers this year than Embers.

I'm specifically addressing the assertion that he should have been de-listed at the end of last year. Of course waters hasn't been great this year, but that's mainly due to injury (and the fact that waters has always been one of those players who take a few games to find form when they return from injury)

He averages 11.5 games a year. 2012 was an enigma, probably never to be seen again.

Kerr's knee flared up again, probably answering the question of why Kerr needed to play in the WAFL to build run and fitness. If his knee is like that post-WAFL matches, what hope has he got of competing in AFL matches?

Sounds like we should pay him out for 2014.

So Kerr's knee flared up. Everyone in here going to apologise about saying Kerr should have played in the AFL over the WAFL? Just like most things in here I'm sure the MC / Eagles coaching staff know a lot more information than us. I know they don't get it right every time, but it seems like they got it right here.

And don't say he shouldn't have played in the WAFL. The WAFL is a glorified Training session for the AFL blokes and 1,000,000% better option to test the knee out there than the AFL.

Sadly I tend to agree with worsfold on Kerr`s performances this year and wasn`t surprised or phased to see Kerr play in WAFL .
