Seeing as he is contracted till the end of 2009 it will make it harder for him to join us, but not impossible. It comes down to the player in the end. If they have a desire to leave, then they will.

I'd absolutely love him to come over, and he would send us on our way to premiership success..! Though, I can't see how we are gonna get him besides Ryder and a high draft pick, but I don't want that to happen, and I'm sure the Bombers don't want that either...Can't see it happening, but nice to know he might be coming down to Melbourne and considering his options...Carn Bombers, we've been wanting this gun midfielder for a couple of years now and us members have put our support behind them, secure the gun midfielder we've lacked...:thumbsu: I'd trade Gumby & our second round pick for the Kerrbatron though...!

I would take Kerr in a flash. There is noway Carlton would be able to fit him in under their salary cap.

You underestimate their creative accounting department.

"I am confident that the evidence will show that I had no part in any market-sharing agreement or understanding with any competitors," Mr Pratt said. "I can't say any more than that."

Dont worry about it, wont happen. With Judd and Cousins gone and most the rest of their aging 05-06 team underperforming there is no way WCE wont be able to put enough zero's on a contract to keep him.

Yeh i wouldnt mind him in the hawks side but we already have a gun middle. Kerry to my 2nd favourite dons would also be good he is one player i idol to the way he plays. He is only in the top 3 players in the comp so wouldnt mind either in hawks or dons side

Gumbleton & 2nd round draft pick
for
Kerr - That'd would be the trade that I'd be happy with, would give no more than that...
Gumby has had some hammy troubles and a couple of other niggles, and if he does another hammy next year his career might be cut short...He is still worth plenty on the trade table, a tall - strong marking CHF, that is courageous in every sense of the word and along with a 2nd rounder in a strong draft, why would they say no...? We get our hard-nosed, classy midfielder that we've desperately lacked and sing our merry dance down the yellow brick road...Sounds good to me...:D

GS, sorry mate, but you are sacked from any more trade negotiations :D

Lets not get excited guys, there is still a whole season plus a silly season to go.

How about Lovett and a 1st and 3rd rounder.

I agree with you. I wouldnt want to lose gumbleton or ryder as I think they are essential to our long term success. One player we could possibly do without is lovett due to so many other similar players in our team. I'd trade him and a first or second round pick to get kerr. I would be shattered to lose gumby or ryder!

While obviously Kerr would be a good pickup, I cant see Essendon going for him. We have recruited heavily in the midfield over the ast 2 years and I think that is where our future lies. I would much rather see the guys we drafted really step up than having to bring in outside reinforcements.

One of the things that I love about Essendon's game setup this year is that we are not relying on one player to win us games in the middle. They play as a team and by getting Kerr, we would be just relying on a player to win the clearances and be the best player. As for Gumby or Ryder, pshhhhhh no way. They are some of the very few young gun KPP goin round. How good is ryder and hes still very young. Don't worry bout getting quick fixes and loose the foundation, have faith in the kids.

Not Lovett!!!! Ryder and Gumby are no chance of being let go that easily, and i doubt WC would let us get away with a player like Lovett being traded for someone as good as Kerr. I love lovett, hence the name, but he is not a potential brownlow winner- Kerr is. I doubt we will go for Kerr anyways, we never end up following through on the big names.

Yeah! One midfielder is a good foundation:rolleyes: Do you not have faith in where Essendon is heading?

More faith than I have in your football knowledge. To think that players like Kerr will be available for us in each draft is just silly. A young elite midfielder would be a huge boon to us, if you can't see that you're a bit dumb.
