if you're going to trade for him, lets hope he's lightened up on the pies since the eagles B&F

I wouldnt mind seeing him traded, for the team and for himself.
Kerr wont be around for our next premiership tilt.
pick 25 although its a first round pick, id still be pretty dissapointed. Pick 25 + a player would get it done. Kerr is a superstar and with better players, with bigger bodies around him, there is no doubt he will return to his devastating best.

No rumour and therefore no source, but IMHO the best club for him where he could do the sort of things that he did at the Eagles before his injuries and the departure of Judd and Cousins is the Cats. He wouldn't get tagged as the best mid like he is at the Eagles but would be 3rd or 4th and likely no tag.

How old is he?
He was a good player with the class of Judd and Cousins around him for example as he rarely got tagged.

would it be fair to say, given his injuries, he would be worth a similar amount to what we gave up for burgoyne?

If Ball went for pick 30, I'd say about 35-40 would be Kerr's price. Injury prone, aging, inconsistent, complete inability to handle a tag, years since he has had a good year, the list goes on.

Do Collingwood supporters now have a license to post BS?

Come back in 12 months and make us a real offer.

He is actually on over 700k next year with the way his contract is written so would be very hard to move

i'd only give up pick 20-30 + a fringe player ie. gamble

his value has plummeted over the last 3 years, west coast would be better off keeping him at this point

It's all very well to say Kerr isn't worth what he was because of injuries, but that doesn't mean he'll be traded cheaply.

Either someone pays what West Coast knows he's worth, or he's not going anywhere.

Hence, he's not going anywhere, because no one wants to pay a heap for him with his injury history of late.

He's not going to be traded. May as well close thread.

FWIW, he'd be exactly the kind of midfielder a team like St Kilda need. Can win the hard ball and also has emaculate delivery. Hopefully he's now over his injuries of the last few years and can play a full season again.

I was thinking the Saints as well.

Lyons stated they need class and when fit Kerr is all class.

They will also be desperate to get it now because after 2 GF losses they won't get to many other chances so they need to do something now not in 2 years time.

Would have liked to see Kerr go to the Saints because a) we'd see him in full flight again b) Lyon is good at bringing the best out of players who are seemingly past it and c) would be good to see St Kilda win their 2nd flag.

Worsfold has stated that Cox & Kerr are off limits. He's our only gun midfielder for our young ones to look upto however, if an offer too good to refuse came around...

And what a great role model he has been. (They should name a divot at Subi after him. The K Hole.)

Seriously
I cant see how is salary would allow him to be traded. A bit like crawford in the later years at Hawthorn.

You can also add in that very few West Coast players last beyond 28-29.

I'm not debating that he is a fantastic player, but he was certainly hepled out by having Judd and Cousins garnering a fair amount of attention.

He would be as good in Collingwoods or StKilda's midfield.

Considering he has had two long stints on the sidelines Kerr should be right. The guy hasn't been getting smashed every game or flying every second week after playing sore. As mentioned the time off to fix groin and now his hamstring has ment he has been able to get over his niggles in other areas.

The last couple of years he certainly hasn't done many 'hard kms'.

If anything this should help extend his career.

Hawks don't seem to bothered about off field indecretions so maybe he could go there instead?;)

As for his salary, if its back ended the Eagles would need to continue paying some of it. This does happen you know.

Why would we trade Kerr - experience and mature physical presence is what we need

Of course, but he is still a quality player, so i dont see the upside for the eagles in doing this. Is he on the vets list yet (ie, does only half is salary count to the cap)?

Partial payment of contracts seems to only occur when a lemon player gets an unwarranted contract, and a club needs to cut losses for bad contract management.

SEN reporting the Suns throwing big dollars at a West Coast player whose surname has a double r in it.
