Don't rate Webb and McLean is a specialist forward pocket.

I can't claim to be an expert, so I'll take your word on it.

Good highlights ... On reflection..he's makes quick decisions after taking a mark, which is a good sign. I guess, this is a deep draft and we can't draft them all

Adelaide were very keen on him from what i have heard for our first round pick.

Reckon he'll be an out and out gun.
This. Many aren't too sure on Dan Mac because he really bolted into top 20 calculations late in the year (especially with a strong TAC finals), but everyone should feel much more comfortable that Adelaide rated him. If I'm not mistaken Hamish Ogilvie does most of the draft work for the Crows and has an excellent first round history (just look it up, outstanding until the Tippett saga). McKenzie I think could get a Blake Acres following as a potential "best of the lot" type.

Do you think he can make the transition to the wing or will we use him off half back to free up someone else to go onto the wing?

From what has been mentioned on our boards and this comes from arguably the most in the know poster in the business, if Lever wasn't available (we rated him ridiculously high), McKenzie was a very strong chance to be our next pick.

Rendell was our head recruiter for a lot of that period (2007-2011) when and during that time a lot of our drafting has been ace. Ogilvie by memory was more interested in the Victorian side of recruiting and definitely played a huge role in a lot of our drafting since 2007 though. Done the job since 2012 so first time he's had a <20 pick... however Matt Crouch looks like an ace pick from last season.

Definitely has that feel from watching him... had the fools hope he'd slide to 35 but wasn't to be.

SEN jwas just saying that as well Elshaug has been watching him all year.

I like this pick. His highlights package has a touch of Luke Hodge about him, clunking strong marks across half back and setting up play. High kicking efficiency and a left footer doesn't hurt either. I've already got him pencilled in on the bench in my 2015 Supercoach team.

Pretty stoked about the draft but D.Mac is the one I have the biggest question marks about. But that's because I don't really know much about him as he seems to have bolted.

As a player, can he find his own pill? He seems like an awesome athlete who can damage on the outside but I will feel a lot more comfortable knowing that he goes when he has to.

Now for my steal of the draft! a bit about D-Mac

A Fantastic athlete and scored greatly at the Combine (2nd in Agility-8.19s, 3rd in Vertical Leap-94cms, 4th in Repeat Sprint-24.02sec and 6th in the 3km Time Trial- 10:07

Has all the attributes to be a great Midfielder/Halfback- Speed, Agility, Endurance and Strength

Elite Ball user by foot and hand (In open and in traffic)

Versatility to be able to play on tall or small opponents

Has an incredible Knack of reading the play and getting to the ball

Loved getting in front of the FF's and taking intercept grabs then rebounds well

Also can kick a score if required forward with a more than reliable set shot for goal

He's a Caulfield Grammar boy, who was often injured this year. Barry Rawlings, the long time Caulfield Grammar coach, rates him the equal of Chris Judd, whom he also coached, as a year 12 boy, which is quite a comparison.

Geez now if that isn't a reason to get excited about D-Mac (like the nickname), then I don't know what is!!!
