Balme's injury reports strike again.

Here's hoping Menz can get back on the park, you have to say the odds are against him from here but we all wish him only good things and hope for the best *hugs*. Stay strong Menz.

**** poor kid, this is getting beyond a joke :(

Pretty awful to read of Daniel Menzel's struggles to get on the park and play the game he loves again.
I can understand Balme's apparent complicity in 'covering up' the 3rd knee reco, as stated in the article Menz needed some mental adjustment time before the news became public knowledge; that's pretty understandable in my book.

Who knows how he moves forward from here; he is certainly one determined kid and will obviously leave no stone unturned in a bid to revive his footy career; I just hope he is being as philosophical as possible about the situation, adversity brings out the best in people with good character such as Daniel Menzel.

Wow, that's so shit! I miss watching him play.. I still think he'll come back strong from this and become the player everyone thought he'd be. Best of luck, champ

Fingers crossed for the kid.

Round 1 start in the VFL isn't as bad as first thought when read the headline.

Hope he gets there.

Such a terrible blow for a young fella to take.
Wishing you all the best Denzel hope to see you back in the hoops before too long

Whenever I hear of a player doing a knee for the 2nd or 3rd time I start to think about their way of life after football, not just how long are they going to be out for.

The poor bloke is going to have quite bad knee pain for the rest of his life from these injuries

We should send menz to Germany

As for balme Julia has him earmarked for minister for defence

Lets hope he can have a positive 2013, poor guy always seemed so positive, this must be really hard to deal with as a young kid!

Bloomin "eck, hes had a hard few months....

If he makes it back and has a decent career in the AFL I dont think he'd care all that much.
Ask most with issues post career (Hocking, Couch etc) if they would trade it for no pain but no AFL career and I would think not one would do it, I know I wouldnt...

Oh my.
A VFL listed player that i wont name mentioned something about this to my brother today at their work. He said it looked serious and the club were trying to keep it under wraps... Hope it's just the scare we have all heard about from Monday's open session. But it might have occurred during a different training session since then. Hope not.
And good call.

Thanks, although I had hoped my tip-off was wrong, right from the moment he told me...

At least I know that particular VFL player will come thru with the goods as a reliable source.

:(

I can't. What is this - Soviet Russia? It's so childish the secrecy that footy clubs routinely engage in. What's so difficult about saying "well he's having another operation"?

Its astonishing that the guy could be fully recovered from his third reco, bit in grand scheme of things he has only missed one season of footy....and even then he did a mini pre season in middle of year.

All things going well, he could be in seniors around late April.
