No this is a wank of an interpretation. You don't hear cheers like that for a one-on-one contest often...

Hard to argue with how someone else interprets a cheer. I was pretty sure it was about the contest at the game. I guess if the opposition fans were cheering, and their club had recently messed up my club's three-peat I'd probably have a dim view of their fan's cheering too.

He did his ACL 5 years ago and was roundly cheered by Hawthorn supporters as he limped off the ground.

Limped off the ground? He was carried off on a stretcher you ****ing fantasist. There is really no end to you cat fan's bullshit. NOBODY was cheering when the stretcher carried him off the ground. NOBODY. Some people cheered/jeered when he fell over, not knowing he'd done an ACL. The fact that some cat fans interpreted this as cheering an ACL says a lot about how psychologically damaged they were after 2008.

You absolute pillock.
He limped off the ground and fell (as hawk supporters cheered) then was stretchered. A bloke near shouted 'you got what you deserved', and plenty of chuckles from the hawk faithful.

Why didn't you mention that at the start? Surely that would have been more relevant to your view to mention that.

You don't know what they were cheering for, I don't know what they were cheering for only the individuals themselves do. Its pretty naive to assume that they were all cheering because a player had suffered a serious knee injury once again...

Were you there? I was, and I know what I heard.
Like the earlier hawk poster said earlier - he got karma for trying to bump someone. That was definitely the attitude of a lot of the crowd.

So caught out bullshitting, now layering more bullshit to cover the stench. He didn't do any limping, do you see a lot of footage around of guys who have just done their ACL limping about? No, they are on the ground clutching their knee, waiting for the stretcher to arrive.
Here is more footage which shows him initiating the bump, and then falling over to the spot where the stretcher retrieves him from.

No limping about. He does the knee, falls to ground, stretcher arrives.

I seriously doubt you were even at the game and it is more likely you've made everything up.

The crowd cheered because he initiated contact with his Hawthorn opponent, and appeared to mess it up, and fell to the ground. There is no way people were cheering because he'd just received a serious injury, and I'm concerned for the mental health of those who are so paranoid about the motivations of their fellow football fans that they would suggest otherwise.

You can cheer or boo whoever you want, are you trying to be Gilligan and become the boo police ? :P

I cheered because he was trying to take someone out and came off second best. Didn't cheer when he was being stretchered off though. Had no idea what sort of injury he had until later. Seem to recall more than just a few cheers in 2011 when Franklin did his knee against the Cats in the QF.

There have been hawk supporters in this this actual thread saying Menzel got 'karma' but you don't believe they would do this at the ground in the heat of a game?
Jesus christ you are naive.

No point trying with the flog anymore. He'll be nowhere to be found after the cats smash the Hawks tonight anyway

Really? I only noticed one, and it was a shit call, but there is a big difference between citing 'poetic justice' on a forum famous for pumped up keyboard warriors, and actually cheering an injury at the ground. I'm sure most cat's fans are reasonable people, even the ones that look like flogs when posting on bigfooty. In any case, you have zero credibility on this topic after you claimed you watched him jeered as he limped off the ground with "your own eyes".

I'll be making my way home from the game. If we do lose , I at least hope Menzel gets through the game unscathed, he deserves some luck.

How long are you planning on keeping track of the number of Hawthorn premierships in your signature for? It is a little hard to argue you are not obsessed when your signature references our success so openly. It is the kind of obsession that creates these warped points of view. "The crowd cheered, must be cheering an injury".

Menzel to kick 5 goals, Hawfie fans to do their famous BigFooty disappearing act after history is denied by the Mighty Catters. :drunk::thumbsu:

Only a Hawthorn supporter could turn a neutral toast to Daniel Menzel into a shitfight. How about you try growing up?

You can twist my words around as much as you like, but I was there and you weren't. Plenty of others at the ground heard it too - there was a thread at the time.

You claim a supporter group is cheering injuries and you are going to trigger negative responses from those supporters. Deal with it.

No mate, it only started because a hawthorn supporter said he deserved it for trying to "injure" someone. And it's true, he was jeered by hawthorn supporters despite obviously injuring himself. No point going over it again I've already proven you wrong.

You are deluded. You proved nothing but your obsession, mr "16 > 13". It's ok, nobody could expect you to be anything but massively subjective on this topic with a signature like that.
