**** me the Geelong/Hawks shit fight threads are pathetic.

Don't blame us. We just want to celebrate Menzel's comeback. Hopefully we have a bit more to celebrate than that at 10.30pm tonight.

This most definitely didn't happen, but I don't know if you remember the 2008 Grand Final but Geelong supporters were cheering when Croad went off whit his footy..

raw

Exactly.
Unfortunately according to the Hawthorn wet pants brigade you can't celebrate a bloke playing his first final in 5 years after 4 knee recos without including them too.

By far and away the best football story in recent memory, forgot about the African boys who have lived in Australia the majority of their life and the athletes who have come from other sports.
For him to miss 4 seasons with re-occuring knee injuries and come back and actually still be one of the classiest forwards in the game is a testament to his rehab strength

If this is how well he can play after 4 years out its a shame we missed his quality in between because he could have been anything by now

Maybe these outlandish claims inspired the pushback. Anyway a bit naive not toe pact some banter

Yeah, well, that's just like, your opinion, man.
We fight the good fight against these smug ****ers!

Could have made a Wolves-East Side joke there too :(

A premiership medal shows they were better than average!

So you think mark Blake is a better player then Daniel Menziel just because he has a medalion around his neck?

lol what a moron.

Disappointing to see a couple of Hawthorn supporters still so insecure that they can't handle the spotlight being on any player from an opposition team - not all Hawks supporters though, a couple have paid tribute and many have had the sense not to contribute if they don't have anything positive to say.

As to Menzel, absolutely love watching him play; he was in top form when he did his first knee in 2011 and kept Geelong in it during the first quarter of the 2011 QF against Hawthorn with a couple of strong marks and straight kicks.
Thanks to a mix of fortitude and talent he has somehow come back after 4 years and is still a very entertaining and effective player.
Needless to say I hope he goes well tonight (although I don't think conditions will particularly suit his style of game).

Wow the shit fights are worse on the main board than the bay. Who would have thought...

Good on Menzel for coming back. Great mental fortitude from the young fella

They did cheer en masse when he did his knee.

Still the most pathetic thing I've seen from a crowd at the footy.

This is a complete wank of an interpretation of what happened. Yes, the Hawthorn crowd cheered when he went down because he'd come off second best in an attempt to bump one of our players (forget who it was now). They had no idea he'd injured his knee, as it just looked like he'd lost a physical contest he himself had instigated. They were not cheering his injury, and the cheers stopped as soon as it was obvious he had seriously hurt his knee.

Good to see him back, and hopefully he gets through tonight's game unscathed, although I can't wish he has a great game :-)

it was Puopolo and it wasn't even an attempt to bump, both players were chasing a ball, Menzel barely even made contact and grabbed his knee before he even hit the ground. I'd advise your don't post unless you know what you're talking about. The hawks flog supporters cheered his injury. Go to 1:24 here

You insecure miserable flog

I don't remember the Croad incident, I'll take your word for it.

If pointing out things that happened (and it most definitely did happen, It's not my fault my memory is much better than yours) makes me a miserable, insecure flog, I guess we're both insecure, miserable flogs.

You probably more so than me though, given you are so insecure you can't even admit it happened.

I was on the other side of the ground, and it was clear he'd done something serious when he went down. I think that's a pretty poor excuse.
It wouldn't surprise me if something similar happened tonight in the event of an injury (by either set of fans). It won't make me think the reaction is any less pathetic though.
