I cheered because he was trying to take someone out and came off second best. Didn't cheer when he was being stretchered off though. Had no idea what sort of injury he had until later. Seem to recall more than just a few cheers in 2011 when Franklin did his knee against the Cats in the QF.

There was a big cheer when Franklin hurt his knee in the same game.
Just shows that being an idiot is not confined to supporting one side or another

Hope Menzel plays well in the finals just not this week

From memory he hyper extended it. Looked terrible at the time but it ended up looking a lot worse than what it was.

Correct. I was at the game and can vouch for both injuries being deliberately cheered. Was unfortunate and pathetic. But it happened.

Heard the Sydney fans cheer when Stevie J came off second best to Heeney when he tried to bump him yesterday. They stopped cheering when it became clear he hadnt done an ACL though...

I was surprised at rhe amount of negativity. To be fair a lot of Giants fans laughed and cheered their rush for the exits with Scully's sealer in the last qtr.
Seriously I'm not sure Fans aren't just applauding their player winning the contest in these cases, and probably aren't thinking injury. I've been known to cheer brutal tackles from Mummy and then feel a bit guilty when the guy can't get back up without help.

How good is this guy? Not even 4 knee reco's could stop him. Not only that He's performing at a high level and proving himself to be quite a handful for the opposition.
