I noticed the Roos delisted the young Queensland boy Daniel Pratt today.

I think he is only 19 or 20 and therefore we can priority list him as a rookie if he is not re-drafted by anyone.

If you read the Roos board you will see that they are very upset that he was let go.

I saw him in a couple of games this year and he was pretty good (hard).

It would be nice to get one back.

I don't think Pratt has played a senior game but he looked pretty good in some of the preseason competition games.

He is an ok size (about 6 or 6'1") and very hard at the footy. He is still 19, which makes you wonder why the Roos left him go, but it also means he has plenty of time for more development and refinement.

If he is not re-drafted by another club (and there is some chance he might be) then he would be a great rookie for us.

In regards to Hale he had a pretty good year in the reserves but they are bringing him on slowly. He will need some time but I think they still believe he will be a superstar for them in the next few years.

If he is a QLDer give him a go. It wouldn't hurt to look commited to developing a QLD list. Might ease some of the belly-acking from down south.

He used to go to my school (I'm currently year 11)

I've seen him play a couple of games with the Aspley Hornets (His old club), as people have already said, he plays very hard at the ball.

It would be good to see him back in Brisbane.

I know this probably doesn't count for much but I hope we don't get him, the guy is in absolute tosser.

Also Campbell are you sure he grew up on the coast, he went to my school in the Northern Suburbs and played footy for Aspley then Northern Eagles (Bah, Turncoat)...

I haven't met him so I can't disagree Possum, but why do you say that?

He's just a very arrogant person, I don't know him that well. I suppose my beef is more with other members of my family, which is personal.

We have known his Granma for over 20 years. She lives in Melbourne.Lovely gentle lady. She is so proud of him, always has been. He was never given a fair go at North.
We need good hard local boys to play for us. Draft him I say.

So you don't know very well and it's a personal issue - got nothing to do with his football.

Then I suggest you are not in a position to comment!

Those that say they know why he was delisted have said it was due to lack of pace and "attitude",whatever that means. I saw him a couple of times in the reserves and, although he certainly had a mature looking body for his age,he wasn't very impressive. I thought he deserved another year just to see how he develops.

Ok People i am a roos supporter, and the reason why we got rid of him is because he was expected to play senior football this year.. and is considred a level below some other North players in his development and didnt get a sniff because quite simply he isnt as good at the slite level as we would have liked him to be.... i know it seems strange to get rid of a playuer at only 19 but whats the point in keeping him in for another 3 season in the hope of becoming a good player, when he wil probabaly only play 8-9 games, which will bring him to like 9 games in 5 seasons.
If he couldnt crack it in our team then how the hell will he make it in a dual premiership (sensational) team like the Brisbane Lions?

More suited to somewhere like St.Kilda where they develop the younger players and give them more of ago such as Daniel Pratt.

He was drafted as a 17 y.o. to Melbourne and appears he might have suffered from the "Dessy" syndrome - homesickness. My information is that his second half of this season was very good in the VFL - this is by far a much better standard than AFLQ.

After two years of senior footy in what is probably the 2nd best competition in the country as well playing in the Ansett Cup in his first year I think it would be foolish to ignore him.

It is probably a safer choice than a 2nd or 3rd pick new draftee that has as yet not played at anything like the top level. Inreality he is only one year older than them and probably better prepared to play senior footy.

The eye sees all
