Universal Love Daniel Talia signs 5-year extension

Geelong thinking they can buy a premiership with Danger is a joke. It didn't work for Carlton with Juddy and so far it has failed Sydney with Buddy.

If I had a choice of only retaining one player if it came down to Talia or Danger, it would be Talia any day of the week. He's a key position player and a fantastic team man. You build premierships around players such as Talia.

We fly as one!
As Leigh Matthews said (on TV during that glorious Easter Sunday last year), good midfielders are a dime a dozen, but good quality key-position players are hard to find. A great spine is what a great team is built from.

Absolutely thrilled about this. One club player. will be 30 by the time his contract runs out.
"I love it here and im settled with my mrs" see its a good thing he came here a single man and met a nice Adelaide girl.

They should use the women's team as an asset to keep interstate crows players at the club, make sure the boys and girls socialise as much as possible, will be good for father-sons as well. Women's team recruiters should use "girlfriend material" and "single" as two of the metrics used to grade potential female players. It could also become a reason to pick an interstate kid they feel might get home sick...
"We have concerns over this QLDer kid Pdub, we're concerned he may want to return to QLD in a few years, but he has a thing for Brunettes and we have plenty of depth in that department in the fe-crows"

You better be joking Pdub ;)

joking about recruiting female players based on how attracted to them the males might be, but not joking about wanting the male and female teams to get romantic to create a the ultimate father/son - mother/daughters .

Unfortunately, Dixon is one guy that Talia has found difficult to handle over the years. When Dixon is up and running, he is one of the best forwards in the league and I think his size and athleticism has caused Talia a bit of grief over time.

Either way, ******* stoked to have this guy remain a Crow for the entire career.

Paer have got a good one in Dixon.

If Talia decided to move to other pastures like a couple of recent crows, we would be in more s**t than something that is in a lot of s**t.
How would you be feeling right now if you were a Hartigan and Laird et al:thumbsu:
His signature [ maybe Don Pike engineered;)] will give the youngsters coming through ....a fat.:D

Right, so you clubs to kinda be in the business of prostitution/eugenics in a way. Sorry but two athletically gifted parents will not always create an athletically gifted child.

If you set two friends up, thinking they might be a good match, it's not prostitution/eugenics, neither is providing situations for then to get to know each other.

Not saying the female team should be forced to hook up with the male, I just think it would be cool if men crows players ended up marrying women's crows. It's a win-win for both teams keeping them happy and local. By "ultimate father/son - mother/daughters" I meant that both their parents played for the club, not that they would be some sort of super athlete.

I know what you mean even if it does read a bit distastefully.

Basketball is probably one of the best examples of how this works

Was there ever any doubt about this? Always signed extensions ahead of time, recently engaged to a local girl, loyal fella.

A good lesson for the Dangerfield's of the world!
And what would that be, exactly? Dump your High School sweetheart if you are drafted interstate? You guys said it all along, that Mardi had a significant impact on Danger's decision - and more than likely that was correct. One has to wonder if Danger really would have left, had he married a local girl? It didn't stop Judd going, but I dare say Patrick may have stuck with the Crows if his other half's family were west of the border.

Either way, this thread is about Daniel Talia - and with the salary cap reserves freed up from Danger's departure, it undoubtedly went a long way towards helping secure Daniel's signature. Well done to the Crows - Talia and Lever (whom which I rate very highly) will form an amazing spine for the next 8 years. With Laird's amazing form as a small defender and with Smith and Seedsman running off opposite half-back flanks, Adelaide's defence will be rather formidable over the next few years.

Haven't you got better things to do in life than be snooping around a Daniel Talia thread looking for Dangerfield related comments?

I can assure you that my MO was nothing of the kind. Correlation doesn't imply causation; responding to a Dangerfield comment doesn't equate to searching for one. I honestly wasn't expecting to see any Dangerfield related comments in here. The thread is about Daniel Talia, no?

It's a thread about a loyal guy who gives his all for his mates every week rather than seek personal glory ;)

Hmmm. I reckon if Danger was drafted to Geelong from the beginning he would never have left. He left for personal reasons, those reasons not necessarily being for personal glory. But good on Talia for signing on, he's a gun player and one whom which Adelaide could least afford to lose. I mean it sincerely when I say I wish him all the best. :thumbsu:
