How much better have we looked generally in those games though

Maybe a bit harsh to call it a shocking decision by the club. These last couple injuries haven't exactly been old man breaking down type injuries that we feared would plague him after his start at the club. Coming back from a lisfranc at his age and now going against surgery to try to prolong his career, as frustrating as it is, shows he certainly hasn't given up. Hopefully most of us won't be giving up on him either.

It's his job to have hope and our job to give up hope on him returning...

Got to feel for us too.

A fit Wells and we’re another level.

Agreed.

2018 GF side with Wellsy = a Collingwood flag.

13 weeks would effectively mean out for the season, but I hope it is only 8 weeks, so Wellsy gets 4 weeks in the VFL, is fit for the finals.

Fingers crossed !

Over his short career at Collingwood he averages .8 goals per game so fair call.
And add his goal assists, we’d improve say against any eagles game about 6 points or so

doesn’t work like that, alas

If he was fit and laying he’d be as important to us as Pendlebury, Sidebottom or Moore.

Don’t think people really get how much of a loss he has been.
Agree.

Had he been up and about, we’d have an extra elite player with exquisite ball skills.
Be a wonderful ball passer to Cox. And same to De Goey.

he'd be a chicken.

Yeah, they're saying PCL, but question is if surgery is required. If its not, could only be out the same as Riewoldt.
Wells said it was his PCL, and he would know.
He will not go under the knife, but give it as long as necessary to heal so he can get back in time for the last couple of rounds.
Apparently he can still do plenty of work, just not work which stresses the knee laterally.
Best choice really, he has a possibility of playing in a final or even a GF.
He goes under the knife, that's it..finee...career over

We saw what he could do in one half last week. Imagine him regularly passing the ball to our leading forwards...

Unfortunately father time caught him and he stopped being robust enough to hack AFL. So anything he could possibly do is hyperbole and living in the past because all the evidence says he can still do nice things but is as sturdy as... something that's not sturdy...

Damn, he must have landed more on his shin and less on his knee than I could glean from the footage. That’s a seriously unlucky injury. Gotta feel for Wells after he agreed to play out the season on minimum chips plus match payments.
