Daniher Vs Moore

As a kid growing up with 80s footy as my early initiation, the names Daniher and Moore were two of the most revered at 2 big clubs. What a treat it was to see them go head to head in an 80s style duel. Whilst Daniher grabbed the big moments, Moore was very impressive too. Considering they still have their best years ahead of them I’m looking forward to this battle continuing.

Did neutrals enjoy this contest within a contest in the same way?

Both are excellent on their day. Moore in particular has gone from a so-so forward to a properly gun centre half back. Spoils anything that moves.

I've got Moore in my Supercoach team so I was watching him pretty closely, he played a good game despite Daniher kicking 4 goals, was a great battle.

Think Joe got the chocolates but to only allow 1 forward 50 mark along with a match-high for rebound 50's and a match-high for intercepts and all 4 of Joe's marks being contested is pretty much all you can ask from Darcy.

He’s a natural footballer. A bloke built like him shouldn’t be selling candy and snapping goals like he does. After a year without him I’m loving his return for just the pure viewing pleasure.

Isn't he? I find him to be one of the most likeable players in the comp. A terrific, highlight reel player who seems like a genuinely good lad that you'd have a beer with.

A proper old-school battle that one. Daniher on his day is right up there and Moore looks like he's been a key defender all his life.

Mods, why is this on the polls board? This is a discussion about a modern day one-on-one contest and it’s appreciation as a spectacle. It has nothing to do with who we think was better on the day. It’s a positivity thread amongst the negative crap on the main board and shouldn’t be hidden as a poll which was never it’s intended purpose.

Did enjoy this match-up. I thought Moore went for the mark a couple of times when he might've punched in hindsight. Daniher might be one of the few forwards who is more athletic/taller than him.

Daniher won the day but Moore is hitting his straps as a key defender very quickly. He's great one on one and is attacking with ball in hand. Just seems so natural for him.
