Seen as though Hawthorn are inquirying what would he be worth. Quick and highly skilled yet cant put it together. Have to be a first round pick though considering hes only 21? Would have him at geelong i suppose for our 1st pick possibly

Id take a third round pick, but your 1st rounder will do fine:D

Timid and has tickets on himself. Too many of his type at PuntRd, but may slot into a team with a better engine room nicely.

Late R2 at best, anything better is a tremendous deal.

late second it is! would benefit being in geelongs midfield i reckon

Thats enough to make him a perfect fit at Horwthorn.

Seriously, don't you feel just a little bit silly saying that?

Did we look timid when we tuned you up by about 10 goals?

And if we've got tickets on ourselves, well at least we have a bit of a reason too.

Meyer's career is struggling, so what would you do in his position?

Take some advice from David Rodan Danny, apparently his career was over as well ey' tigers:confused::thumbsu::rolleyes:

Danny is quick and a great kick. He has been injured and i honestly believe he has a good future at AFL level and we should do our best to hold onto him. If we get a 1st round sure do the trade if not what is the point?

Quick and good kick is exactly what we're after. What about the comment he's timid. Any truth in that, because Clarkson made a specific point at the B&F of how important it is to him and the other coaches that our players are hard at the footy. (Used the example that the top 3 in our B&F were all hard nuts).

Some players don't get a fair run from coaches. Has Myer only played 17 games because Terry doesn't give him a go or has he just not played well enough to get the games?

Any thoughts from Tiger supporters appreciated.

My fading memory is he was excelent in his first 8 or 9 games before his leg injury. Showed the skill and class why he was highly rated. He has been soft and lazy since then. You dont lose skill and class but you can regain the passion. For that reason (a rocket with his name being mentioned) i do not want him to be traded.

Here's a 3 way deal:

We trade Meyer to Hawthorn.
Hawthorn trade a late second rounder to West Coast.
West Coast trade us Morton.

Very fair reasonable deal!

He doesnt work hard enough, lacks intensity and comepetivenss, he stahnated in seconds coz he'd barely get more than 10 possies a game...Not worthy of senior selection in anyones books...Missed later part of year 4-5 weeks with hip injury

When he first came to the club his pre-season talk was he was just about on par with Lids however since then injuries and slower development has affected his chances. Do i believe he can make the best 22 next year. Yes.

The Kangaroos have a position vacant in player recruitment. You would fit the role perfectly.;)

Not sure timid is the right word... he can take a decent grab and throw himself at a contest. Personally I have been dissapointed with his 2nd and third efforts (lazy) - I can remember a game aginst adelaide when he ran down Mcleod over 30 metres but thats about it.

He also struggles to find himself a position.

Sounds like his problems might be all above the shoulders. Maybe clarko and Co think a change of scenery might be what he needs.

It certainly worked for Nathan Thomson when he left us. He hadn't played the brand of footy he's played at North since about 2000-2001.

like I said, he'd fit into teams where he doesn't have to win his own ball much. That's task 1 at the Tiges currently..

Not sure why Hawthorn would be interested in Meyer at all. Moss, Ellis, Tuck, Muston all still to find a role. On exposed form Meyer would be getting in a queue.

If Hawthorn must do this trade (and FWIW I hope they let this one pass), it's got to be bargain basement. Forget where Richmond drafted him, three years with little to show for it.

Third round (pick 45) at best.

Yeah, its good for you blokes. Meyer is worth no more than a 3rd rounder or free in the PSD. Hes average..

Meyer is a pure finisher. He is one of the best set-shots in the league. Hawks probably have the tall forwards and are looking for a Morrisey type ex-factor who can snag goals but doesn't have to be a genuine best-18 player every week.

Meyer is quick on a athletics track but rarely shows it on a footy field.

He is not tough. Although he did cop a big bump at Coburg, survived, realised you can go hard and not get hurt, and played 6 good weeks before he went back to his old ways.

This year he thinks he was hurt (shoulder) and should have been rested. Richmond believe he had a niggle and should have got on with it. That has created the rumours that he is unhappy and wants out.

At VFL level he is a 10-touch, 2 goal player with no defensive qualities. He is one of those rare players who would probably be better at AFL level where there is more time, space and set plays.

Richmond wouldn't suffer from losing him. As talented as he is he needs to be a front runner in a good team. He will always be a liability in a team that defends most of the afternoon.

Daniel Motlop would be a comparison. Great when you are winning and going forward. No way of getting involved when you are getting done.

So, Danny Meyer would go missing in the grand final, is what you're saying (if Hawthorn made it that far)? :D
