How much better is Stanley than Armstrong!!! And how much faith can you have in recruiters who believe that Armstrong could be the answer to our backline prayers? After watching O'Brien play for Hawthorn, Broomhead had better turn out to be a great player, or I will forever regret passing on O'Brien for yet another shortish player.

O'brien would've been a nice pick up for us but I do like Broomhead early days anyway so not concerned there.
We have picked up Armstrong, Russell and Lynch, none of whom seemed to have much in the way of good football in them. You would have difficulty naming a single player drafted from other clubs by Hawthorn in the last 3 years who has not more than adequately filled a hole for them. I just don't think that our recruiting outside of the draft and player swaps has been as good as we may like to think. **** me too.
Kyle Cheney and Cameron Bruce? Every club has them. It's also a bit unfair to compare Armstrong and Stanley when they play different positions. Despite Stanley's improvement, I don't think a slow tagger, with average skills, is what Collingwood are in need of.

No risk but no gain. I am simply making the point that Hawthorn are currently the best in the business at picking up quality recycled players. Sometimes they pay a high price for good players, while sometimes like with pick 28 for Gunston they get a bargain. They don't draft proven duds, unless Ceglar fits that category.
