i disagree respectfully.

i still think college is a fantastic stepping stone. it will broaden his horizons and he'll get some education.

he'll be around people his age and can form good networks. in the A, its every man for himself. also, with obscene amounts of $$$ he'll get from the A it is likely he (or anyone from high school) will blow it all on hookers and crack.

Pete none of those kids take college seriously, they go because they have to for a year and then pick the easiest classes possible to avoid being ineligible because they are dumb as posts.

Young Mr Exum getting an education is an excellent idea.

However, getting an education is not very compatible with being a full-time, professional basketball player, as you are required to do while participating in a top NCAA program.

Given that his next several years will involve being a full-time professional basketball player, he may as well be a paid professional basketball player, safe in the knowledge that if he washes out at NBA level, then he can come home, enrol in an Australian university at the age of twenty one or so, and play semi-professionally if he feels like it.

Dante doesn't need too get the NBA too take notice of him, he has been on their radar about two years now. The prospects draft ranking is not a fantasy draft, as some seem think or wish it is.
You don't realize he has competed against US representative players who are now in college. He played in our Australian junior teams against them already, at several different tournaments. And could not be held. And that not bad considering he is two years younger than what those guys are.
And there is not the High School, then two year college restriction that the US athletes are bound by. And look how many good US high school players have started college and been physically destroyed playing for the College Coaches one eyed dreams.
There is the argument around again too allow US domestic HIGH School graduated athletes straight in the NBA again at the moment. But College sport is big broadcasting bucks so there is opposition to allow that to happen. College sport is big big business. Go for it young man!

What i'm finding funny at the moment is that some of the less educated mock drafts around now having him slipping down to 6 or 7 or 8, mainly due to the out of sight out of mind deal.
The guys clearly ahead of him right now are Wiggins, Embiid and Parker - thats it, he isn't sliding like these people seem to think.
Zach LaVine sure as heck wont be drafted ahead of him, nor will Vonleh, Grant, Harris or Hood.
Hes borderline with Randle depending on teams needs and i'd be shocked to see Smart go ahead of him.

Worst case scenario at this point is he is drafted at 5.

Yeah that's the way I read it too. Once the draft comes close the others flaws will come into it and he'll go up again. That's when being out of sight will help him.

that's like in high school when people would study their own language as a second language to increase their vce score or alternatively claim they were fobs and study english as a second language lawl

Known dante since he was 11, and believe me the college offers he's received are very substantial, he's grown a bit over the past few months, he'd be better suited to a SG in the big league, from what Cecil has told me college is where dante wants to go

Wants to go to college? Why did he start hiring agents (pretty clear indicator he's going to the draft)?

He'll go to the NBA surely. Very few NCAA teams offer an education as good as he could get in Australia anyway. Then there's the fact he could ruin his entire NBA career before it starts by going to college.

Nobody receiving good advice would choose college over the NBA, and his stock is already top 5. Worth playing a year just to guarantee going number 1? Not on your life.

But if he becomes an SG, we could roll out an international back court (in theory) of Kyrie Irving and Dante Exum. That's not bad at all.

Sweet hopefully exum will allow me to finally connect to an nba team as long as it isn't the bloody lakers!
want to avoid him going to Cleveland at all costs.

Noice.

Hopefully Ben Simmons can develop at LSU too.

Exum, Simmons and Irving would have been decent for 2020 Olympic Games ;)

That Early 90's NBL importation showing fruit...those were good times. If only Leroy Loggins pumped a few more out :(
