Trying to be competitive while we rebuild basically.

The only move we have made that I agree with is this one. No ruck is killing our midfield. Hard to win when it’s 4 on 3
Going after a contracted elite 29 year old ruckman with where WC are at is the stupidest list move I have ever seen since trading pick 14 for a good mature role player in a rebuild.

You guys are giving your club far too much slack for prior success. This shit is completely bizarre.

Doesn't make much sense for either club... is Cummings known to be well connected? Is there actually credible noise about Cameron looking to move?

Do you think they would split their 1st pick again ?
Surely not
I sat there the whole last trade period backing that mob up saying no one is stupid enough to split pick 3 and then give half of it for Baker but they made me look stupid by contamination so who ****ing knows what they are going to give up.

I continue to be completely bewildered at whatever the **** WC think they are doing this rebuild

Join the club.

Darcy Cameron is worth a 3rd round pick or a 3-4 year FA offer (if he was eligible) to WC. No more.

It's not a reflection of him as a player, it's a reflection of our list.

Yeah and there is no way Pies are taking less than that Hawks first, given WC's trading history, likely more. It's just completely baffling but hopefully Cummings is talking his usual dribble

The first one was the big issue. Baker provides nothing we dont already have and it isnt a need in any way. This one is just a unfortunate need. Its not the fact we need a competent ruck, we need one to just compete and we dont even have that.

Reid/Hewett/Hough and co in the midfield cannot blossom when its 4 on 3. We need to even those numbers up. Cameron wont be around for the next flag but he will help the young players get better while he is around

What do you think you'll be giving up for him?

This is also true but then again is it better for Darcy Cameron and will Collingwood stand in his way ?

Those the 2 main things
I think if he waits a year he could command a big contract as the best out of contract ruck on the market and one of the best players on the market

If its more going home then he may just want to do it now obviously

It might be like Hill where he just stays and nothing comes of these rumours too

It's hard to say TBH as we don't really know what our draft hand will be.

If Oscar Allen leaves, we're looking at pick 2 probably to go with pick 1, 14 (currently) and 19.
If HR goes, you can probably add at least another 2 top 10 picks.

So I think a lot will be dependent on how those cards fall.

I suppose the gist of my questions is there is no way it's less than a 1st right?

For Cameron its a no brainer and wouldnt care how it gets done so long as he gets the $$$ in his last contract
Nobody could blame him for cashing in.

Pies will know they cant afford to lose him and cant stand in his way unless they match the offer and will have to let him go but will demand a very high price in draft picks as they should

Eagles will deal and try get best possible deal they can but if they have committed then will have to get the deal done
but im thinking its the hawks 1st rounder Plus extra.

Looks a silly deal for the eagles imo
Whats another year playing with a B grade ruck combination and its not like Cameron will elevate them significantly
Bewildering

He's contracted so Collingwood can just say no.
He's on peanuts currently so they're getting a great deal.

Absolutely they can
But the fact that Eagles have approached him whilst under contract and offered him significant lift in salary to make him leave a premiership contending team to a wooden spoon team would put the pressure on the eagles to see it through and get the deal done.

And we know the Eagles and Matty Clarke like getting deals done

Pick 19 + a player, I think JWilliams would be a bit too much to add as the player but the Pies would definitely be interested.

There are other ruckman going around that would be of interest to the Pies. Draper, Soldo, Sweet, etc are all gettable

Collingwood would bite your arm off for pick 19 and JWilliams.
Can't see us offering that TBH.

well 19 will end up in the 20s after bids, idk how many matched bids will come but could be pick 25-30 + JWilliams OR BWilliams.

Tbh that doesnt sound that far off.

The Hawks 1st rounder should be between 18-25 areas, that + one of the Williams I could see being offered too, especially in a weaker draft

Will be Hawks 1st rounder plus
bet your bottom dollar on that

You cannot avoid the Barrass trade as being the reference in this trade if it eventuates

That's a pass from me then.

Also, both Williams boys are contracted and we don't have a reputation of pushing contracted players out the door, unless they request it.

I wouldnt be surprised one bit if one of the Williams asked for a trade, id actually be surprised if both are on our list again next year.

JWil would be the Pies(or a bunch of other clubs) #1/#2 KPF from round 1 2026, but he cant get guaranteed games with us.

We have shown that we prefer Archer, Bailey is currently ahead of JWil, and Shanahan who is potentially the most talented of them all isnt even competing for a spot yet

Probably, that hawks 1st rounder will be pushed back by matched bids anyway.

Hawks 1st rounder + hawks 2nd for Cameron is fine.
Hawks 1st rounder + JWil(for example) for Cameron is a hefty price to pay for a guy turning 31 next year, but the club may not rate the draft
