Without a winning midfield he just does not have it to impact a game or turn a game

Unfortunately one of many players who was a non-event in finals.
Our midfield couldn't win the ball and when they did their delivery was terrible.
We couldnt rebound from defence effectively and get it into the forward line.
Fog is well down on the list of criticisms and concerns.

I actually think over the two games he was the biggest dissapointment. The delivery was poor but he looked scared. He didn't even want to compete
He is not a leader and never been a tough guy or a competitor. Many from outside the club have said he is overrated and it looks that way. He will drift through the rest of his career on big money but he is an average player when the heat is on.

For all of those who liked the post...
Tex had 0 contested possessions and the lowest disposal efficiency on the ground. All whilst commanding entries like peak Carey. This is why we’re crap and it won’t change, it’ll be no different next year
Fog will be different next year without Tex, if Tex retires, if not expect the same shit in the finals

2. If he could lift his hand above his shoulder he should have said I'm done now
He has played as if he didnt want to be there or couldnt manage his positioning - if thats due to an injury he should have said so - its also on the coaches for selecting him knowing his limitations

I love Fog, he's one of my favourites. I think some of the criticism is a little harsh. Sure, he'll never be Wayne Carey, but as hell is better than most other forwards we've had in the last twenty years.
Fog didn't have a great finals, but as did so ma y others. He still has elite skills in front of goal and is one of the most reliable set shots in our side. I do think he will be better without Tex in the forward line.
It's been a rough end to our finals campaign, however I agree with others that Fog is a long way down the list of priority concerns right now. We need midfield depth and a solid extractor to help Daws.

A player who can't win a contest and needs the ball to be delivered on a platter to have an impact. You can laugh at this but just compare him to someone like Patrick Voss who can win a contest and plays with desire.

Have you looked at how well FOG has performed when Tex is out?
Also - this is such a bullshit notion.
In FOG's first 9 games he kicked 25 goals.
During this time Walker averaged 1.8 goals a game.
In FOG's next 15 games he kicked 16 goals.
During this time Walker averaged 1.6 goals a game.
FOG is a hot and cold player.
In 2022 - he was terrible at the start of the season - but finished really strong in the 2nd half.
In 2023 - He started out amazing and then dropped off.
In 2024 - He started out off, got hot for half a season and then dropped off at the end.
In 2025 - He started out off and then was pretty invisible for the 2nd half of the season.
It has nothing to do with Walker and everything to do with FOG.
Amazing that we are here complaining about Fog and Tex being ineffective when we’ve managed to have a 35 year old Jack flipping Gunston kick 5.3
