A week or so ago I was calling for Abbott to replace SavRat. But wow, what a great debut by Fort - 3 goals and 17 hitouts!

Yes Fort definitely deserves multiple games as the 2nd key forward. But I would assume that Abbott will be dropped when Stanley is fit.

Fort played into the game and in the end was looking a handful. well done.

Fort was not flash in the JLT - clearly done some work and will be up and down - but the debut was great....3 goals and 17 touches... fair effort that.

Seems to remember Zac Smith kicking 3 on debut for us V Hawks a few years ago and many got on board with him then - i'll see the same here.

Fort looks pretty good in that Sav role.
Be interesting to watch him against a team with a decent defence but you can only beat whose infront of you and he did that.
The key for his game tonight was efficiency, something this team is brilliant at.
All 9 touches were effective, 3 shots on goal all went through.
Can't ask for more than that and takes the pressure off Sav to go back to the VFL to find some touch and confidence.

I agree with the Bulldogs have a great midfield but crap talls besides Naughton so I would like to see Abbot and Fort against better talls to rate them but they were both solid.

Only thing that stuffed Sav was 2 goals in 8 games and Fort plays 1 and has 3......who ever has this spot got to get at least 1 goal a game on average

I'm a bit concerned about the number of our hit outs that were sharked by the dogs mids but definitely Z. Smith will be dusting of the resume. Off to the crows for a late pick i feel

Witts is a solid ruck. I'd expect to lose the hit outs regardless of who we pick

Yes it means less than 1 per qtr in a game where most of the play was flowing his way.

We are also aware that Geelong players tend to be charitable and feed off to players when they having an easy day, so why not Fort to boost his confidence and give him a memorable debut.

Might seem harsh after tonights effort, but he seems like bit of a plodder and certainly not a natural forward. Much prefer Savs pack crashing mark attempts tbh. And clearly Stanley is the better player. Don't seem him in our best team, but a handy back up type if anything were to go wrong.

I've been arguing for a few weeks now that we should have a look at Fort sooner rather than later. Can't argue with 3 goals straight on debut.

Not exactly a clean grab of the footy which mirrors what I have seen of him in the VFL playing forward. 3 goals should keep his spot for the time being.

Fort did nothing more than he has been doing in the VFL. He had a good debut game.. but would need to mark a lot stronger than that to be a legit threat to Savs spot.
The main thing he achcieved is he has ensure that he will be around a while. Id say Smith should start look at options

Hes 29 i think he is capable but i doubt he will have any afl suitors.

Definitely agree but it was a good start by him and Abbott competes well whenever we play him. I dont think he's ahead of Stanley but he's a capable cheap backup.
