Darcy needs help, from the way we play. Leave the back six alone, they are, hard to believe doing there job.
Dunn has played forward and been ok at it, know what to do and would bring leadership to the forward line.
Does not mind beening a physical presence as well

Exactly he would be the only bloke with 100+ games in our forward line

Ideally a team should have a player in each section of the ground barking instructions and leading by example.
By what some said, who were at the game said he is very vocal and supportive. Some one has to step up and show what to do.

I couldn't attend as I had a work commitment, but labelling those who gave a bit of a 'hooray' to Moore for finally being able to complete a basic of the game....as uneducated bogans.....

Ok.
To get in to a bloke for getting a kick at AFL level that no one who jeered him could have done makes us as a fan group like like a bunch of w***ers.

For some perspective.........how often have we seen a youngster (or even a well established favourite son) drop a few catches or fumble in the field at the cricket and get a bronx cheer when they finally stopped/held one? I can't think of too many players who didn't give the crowd a wry smile and just get on with it. End of..........

I think a lot of us here have given it far more thought than Darcy ever did.

Lloyd mentioned how Moore will never be a proper key forward and that he will always be a Jack gunston type 3rd forward. While I think this was a bit exaggerated, I do think Moore needs to play way up the ground.

We have severe problems with transitions from defensive half to forward 50. Moore hasn't gotten enough size on him to outmuscle his opponent, but he does has the agility and speed.

Play him as a high half forward leading on the wing similar to Roo/Gunston and I see him being much more effective. Right now even Mason Cox is more effective as a full forward and a better contested mark.

I don't even know what a bronx cheer is

An ironic cheer. A pretend cheer. The cheer you give when a player (as happened to Moore) finally does something to deserve a cheer.

I dont 'Bronx cheer' our players, but I do umpires, when a free kick is finally paid after being a long time coming.

By fight it out do you mean get absolutely monstered every week and lose every inch of form and confidence in his body?
Yeah what ever you say. You know he is talking more marks per game than last year. The only area he is down in is goals. To often he is two on one and we need to address that. Play someone like Dunn forward as a defensive forward get him to round up the loose and draw him out of the space.

Rule number one disregard everything Lloyd says

It's funny that we're having this discussion about bronx cheers. I said to someone about 3 weeks ago that I really hope Darcy Moore doesn't become the new Travis Cloke in that regard.

I agree with those who think he needs to play up the field. His athleticism is one of his strongest attributes, yet he's hardly ever allowed to actually use it because he's cramped up inside 50.

You need a 2nd KPF that is capable and dangerous then Moore wont get double teamed as he is the 2nd option not 1st.

It is one of many reasons why Reid needs to go fwd.
Its not about the other forwards. Everyone in the forward line gets double teamed. It's a congested mess. You could put plugger and Carey beside him, but there would still be no one out opportunity. Even Blair found himself double teamed every time he went for the footy.

That is because Blair can't make space for others. I do agree with you that the forward line is overcrowded due to our style. But the best FFs would create space, plugger would put a few defenders in hospital that sat in his hole.
Hell even big Pebbles used to smash any defender who sat in front of him and Tarrant. It's amazing what a well placed knee to the back/head from a FF will do to the defenders Psyche!

Reid leads up at the ball defenders will follow then (if we are well drilled) a player should be leading in behind him into the space he creates (this player should be the target a certain % of the time).
The other times we need to go to Reid to contest with smalls waiting for the crumbs should he not mark it or spot up an Elliott/Fasolo etc.

The best I have seen our fwds work in together was under T.Daniher before his spat with Mick saw him lose his job. Would love to see the club get him back to teach our new group.

We need to keep pumping games into Moore, and he needs to find a way to be relevant despite the form he is in.

If we drop him to VFL, he will just come up against lesser defenders who he will not only out-mark, but will also give him more opportunity to use his leap and agility.

The issue he faces now is that good AFL defenders are taking his run away. They push him off the ball and force him under it. He needs to find tools to adjust to this. At VFL level, he'll just get it his own way and it won't do anything other than maybe improve his confidence.

Personally, I'd give him 5 minute bursts in the ruck, or use him as a spare in defence to free up Reid to go forward.

Not permanently, but just to get him involved in the game. I think we need to keep persisting with him...at least until another player on our list genuinely challenges for his position. But I also think it is useless to leave him rotting up forward. Sometimes a player just needs to be involved to get some confidence back and feel like he is contributing.

His progress is quite normal. Bursts onto the scene, looks good, opposition sides put the work into him and take his natural game away (in his case a running jump at the ball). Like Hogan last year, he then looks pretty sooky out there and people like me question his attitude, idiot supporters give the kid bronx cheers and smash him on talk back. Its really up to him from here, he needs to work on his game, get stronger and hold his marks on the lead and make his forward play multi dimensional.

But for him to be coping the flack for an under performing side is ridiculous. He really it the outlet for fans frustrations with the overall direction of the club, its far better being directed at those in charge who have left a 20 year old kid as our key forward (amongst other short comings).

Ben Heart on Sen also thinks he will become a quality 3rd or 2nd tall. Doesn't sound like he thinks he will be that number 1 banana type either to the point he didn't bother even suggesting it, but said multiple times on him becoming 2nd or 3rd.
The media always have to come out with garbage to stay relevant. Last year they were saying he was the best young key forward in the game. Their jobs revolve around generating discussion, so they make him out to be superman when he is going good and equally they say his terrible when they are going bad
