I have brought it up before he stab kicks at goals.

Needs to really get the pendulum swing kick happening and kick right through it. He also bends at the knee instead of having a straight leg like most FFs worth their salt have when at extension kicking through it.

I didn't watch Peter Moore being not alive back then did he kick in a similar manner or is it a bad habbit Darcy has developed on his own?

Do you reckon that also limits the length of his kick?
Maybe it will come more with age and strength, but dont think ive seen him kick a goal from outside 50. As a key forward you need to have that in your arsenal, because sometimes those are the only shots that will be available.

But Pebbles had the Travis Cloke about him - could hit the long ones, but always a question 20-30m out.
I dont have the numbers in front of me, but i remember sav being a much better kick.
I don't have the stats. either.
I mention Anthony for two reasons; he is at the club and he could kick accurately from long distances.

We do have Pebbles.
If memory serves he could roost one...

Sav had that extra bit of accuracy on big Pebs.

But yes Anthony could roost it with the best of them, hopefully the sports science team is not overruling kicking practice like it has every other season over the last few years.

100% it effects the distance of his kick, it's interesting that he kicks through it better when on the run then on a set shot.

Still don't get it

Darcy kicks with a very bent leg and tries to kick the ball low even from distance. Like a stab pass field kick. The best full forwards kick right through the ball and get their version of a "golf swing" or pendulum swing through the ball.

Leg is generally/relatively straight when doing it hence the examples showing the difference in the form.

If you don't get the other picture well...There is something similar in terms of being human but very different in terms of anatomy, which if you were male and picking to conceive a child would give a very different result.o_O Much like goal kicking with a bent leg.

So IF the Club got a Proper Skill Coach. They would work on Moore to get his Leg Out More Instead of Bent

By the way Dave look out for the third leg in the picture! ;)

spent many games watching peter, different player in different times
darcy is similar in his mobility but more of a pure forward.

I kicked the same way. Low trajectory (although I looked more natural). Didn't necessarily affect distance depending upon your power.

Overall I was a legend. Unfortunately I didn't give afl clubs the opportunity to discover me.

It's my one regret in life. Not sharing my ability with the afl community. Nothing but selfishness on my part.

Please accept my apologies.
ha ha, legend mate, we really missed you.
unless of course you are the real "cotton" picken?

BS, core is a must
Lol if you want to improve your kicking distance you need to primarily improve your muscular power in your legs as that is where the force is generated. If you increase your maximum amount of force you will increase your distance. Training legs will greatly benefit your core anyway, this is not to say Darcy shouldn't specifically train core but his legs should be him main focus

lol (what does that even mean?)
when your core is strong and stable, you have less issues with back and legs. would hope the staff are all over that one.
have had experience with an accident and had to build core strength as a premium to leg power. stable strong core is the foundation to kicking strength through the thighs.
correct me if i'm wrong, just conversing not preaching

Being stable and strong through the core will mean that you are more efficient but to improve the distance in your kicking I would priorities quads glutes and hamstrings. Also the final stride before kicking the ball is very important, if you are looking to kick the ball further you should try and lengthen that stride as it will enable you to generate more power through the ball
