I think the most impressive aspect of Darcys season, and the fact I believe most people have forgotten, is that he was a defender for a greater part of the season, before being chucked almost completely into the deep end when he was thrown forward.

I can't recall many first year players coming into the system and being thrown all around the ground, it shows the club has a huge amount of confidence he can perform regardless of his role, and too his credit he showed a lot of heart all year.

He should for the first time be training as a forward all preseason, he should see a great amount of growth in that role over the next few months and he's in prime condition to have a crack at 2016.

What impressed me was his ruckwork. I reckon he is going to be the perfect second ruck.
When I saw that they had thrown him into the ruck I was staggered. I thought "here's the kid who's supposed to lead us back to greatness and you've thrown him into the ruck in one of his first few games". He handled it with aplomb, I expect him to do the same with any challenge thrown his way in future years. He has everything in his favour to turn into a future champion/superstar, I'll be surprised if it doesn't happen.

I totally agree. If only some of the others on this forum showed the same level of faith in the kid.

It would be a shame if we likened him to Leigh Brown, although he may be the catalyst of the a 2nd ruck/ forward roll that will be referred to his name by the time his carrier is over.

Faith is about believing in something for which there is no evidence. Why would we need to do that? We have seen performances, it is now about making our projections. There is no need for faith. Some will be right and some will be wrong.

I have t seen anyone say he will not make it, it is just about whether he will be good or very good (or exceptional). Those who think he'll be exceptional tend to historically and characteristically overrate young players and are heading towards disappointment, if not for Moore then for others.

Club has saved he be Training this Pre-Season as a Forward and not as a Defender

Jarryd Roughead... The best forward in the league and he is also a second ruck who tears the midfield apart when he is in the guts.

That's who we should liken Moore to.

Agree with the reference but Moore would be considered more athletic.
It also is worth noting that Roughead played 2nd fiddle to Franklin for a very long time. Some of us are very quick to judge players when more time is required before we can draw a conclusion.

Darcy has shown only a glimpse of what I believe he is capable of. So given he has not performed to the maximum of his ability I can only assume that he will one day deliver on his enormous potential. I call that showing Faith in the kid that he can reach the heights we all hope he can reach.
To date there is no evidence of the level he can reach. We are all projecting based on the small glimpse he has shown. I have faith that he will deliver.

96% of people have masturbated. The other 4% are liars.
Actually, Charlie Sheen has never masturbated. The old myths about it sending you blind etc...
A hooker union myth to scare Charlie outta trying. He kept the industry alive "single handed" at one point apapparently. Or so I'm told...

He reminds me of both Riewolts almost a combination.
I was more thinking more Nick in the way he manages to elevate but Darce's hands are a work in progress.

He's definitely not afraid to play hard
either and I think once he fills out he'll put his strength to very good effect.

My main concern is finding a capable, long term, key forward partner for him. I hear Cox is a ridiculously fast study but I'm not yet convinced. If we can get a 7 ft/120kg legitimate threat working from the goals quare though... Heheheehe...

Are Moore and Cox still sharing the same flat? They seem to get along well off field, would be great to see that on field .

I wasn't aware they were but it makes sense going halves on door frame work costs. I'd love for us to have that elusive pairing we always seem to be "working on" building.

It isn't out of the realms of possibility though now with rotations capped. I think our whole strategy of more height and weight across the board is somehow anticipating a shift in the game.

Waiting impatiently...

Put a Yank who is completely alien to AFL together with the son of an Collingwood legend who almost grew up at the club. They both seem very level headed.
For a fast track indoctrination for Cox on what it means to wear B/W, it couldn't be better.

That's highly likely and a good
observation BTW. Cox has also been given time to grow into his frame without stressing it which I think is a big advantage.

Young AFL rucks are too exposed to loads and impacts at an age when they're already often having issues with
back fracture and other big man issues.

I think Darce is already filling out OK though and he's smart. His mark and kick goals are impressive but I've watched the goal he scored early in the Cats game ad nauseam. The tap forward he gathered, then kicked, all at full speed is more impressive when broken down.

Cloke will play into 30's so there's cover but if Cox can step up we'll be a chance.
