Darcy Moore will only turn 20 in 3 weeks time. I think we should be hope he's played a handful of games and hope he plays some more this year to continue learning the ropes at AFL level and continuing his development. I am sure he will play some good games and some bad games and get plenty of knocks from people on Big Footy because he's not playing as well as some people hoped.
My thoughts are that he's only a kid and we need to give him plenty of time before expecting him to be the savior in our forward line. I just want to see improvement in 2016.

And how did Moore get most of his 5 goals against the Doggies?

You can't have it both ways Dave. Yes, Moore has greater intensity, but to date he doesn't get the ball as much as White or kick as many goals. They're the facts. It's not a statement about either player being better or worse, just the facts.

Ideally, I'd like all our recruits to earn a senior game through weight of VFL performances. Moore and Maynard had their debuts gifted to them when other players clearly had better form. I think both have long term futures but I don't see why there is so much urgency to get them into the team. Now they've both had extended senior exposure, both will be hard to dislodge.
Because the team is thinking Long Term after we Started Losing and It's better to Play Kids instead of Players who Just Plug a Hole

From what I've read, Dave's the only poster who has compared Stanley's performance with Moore. The remainder of us have just highlighted that there are other players in the league who have equal pace and athleticism IE: Stanley.
I meant that they where both around 200cm and Very Athletic/Agile. Moore is a Footballer who Happens to be a Athelte and Stanley is a Athlete trying to play Footy

Yeah, I'm really optimistic about him but there just isn't enough evidence to date to be throwing the superstar tag around. At worst, he projects as a good solid long term player. Time will tell if he'll surpass that.
Good Solid Players don't Kick 5 Goals in a Game so Early in there Career and Look better then some players that put on him

(I recall Allan Jackovich kicked 6-0 in his first game)

TD - stop overvaluing that 5 goal performance. It was a blowout loss & and most of those goals were over the top goals in an empty forward line. It was great for him to get those on the board - but you can't take too much out of it. They were not from big pack marks, or even any contested marks (from memory). They were not a KPF making a statement in a tightly contested game. They were a youngster who's effort was rewarded with things falling the right way for him (in a loss).

The things that make me optimistic about Moore are the 2nd efforts, the enthusiam, being hard at the contest... They all bode well for him to have, at a minimum, a decent career.
What we haven't seen yet is anything to suggest he can be a star forward (see Jesse Hogan) but he still has plenty of time for that to happen.

So Moore is Overrated by Pies Fans and the Media and he can still be MASSIVE BUST?

Actually 2 from marks, 1 from a very soft free, and 2 off the back of hard work by teammates when he was opponent less. And my point was that he accumulated his scores in exactly the same way you were slamming White for scoring his. Can't have it both ways Dave, if it's great play when Moore does it, it's great play when White does it.

Moore is certainly unproven but the potential is there to see. Whether it eventuates, only time will tell. That's where he sits right now, for mine.

Heath Shepherd anyone? Kicked 5 on debut, how was his career?

Mark Orval, kicked 4 playing CHF in game 6, how was his career?

Andrew Tranquili kicked 6 in his 2nd or 3rd game, how was his career?

Brett James managed 10 goals in his first 9 games, how was his career?

Again Dave, we aren't saying that Darcy Moore isn't promising. We're saying that to date, his senior performances have been as you'd expect for a young KPP. Promising without screaming star, and his VFL form does nothing to enhance that.

Then why was Buckley saying he was so Close and He played some Really Good Games Down Back even when he is Naturally a Forward
Buckley talks up a lot of players, as do the VFL match reports. I know how you agree with them. Doesn't actually mean anything until those words are put into actions at selection committee. Even then, as I've said elsewhere, I thought Moore and Maynard were very lucky to get senior games ahead of others who had consistent good VFL form.

Then what do you think then?
He's a up and coming star in the making with the right qualities of an AFL player, leader and AFL Captain.

He'll get there with the right development which he is currently getting and will be a premier forward also in coming years. If you have an opinion, it doesn't mean you have to argue you it. Just remember that TD. :)
