agreed they penalised us each time and then let the Pies infringe us at will. Mooney was stiff a few times.

They could have been 4-5 goals down in the first quarter if not for the umpires. Was a disgrace.

So glad I didnt have to blame a loss on them. Cause I would have been DARK.

It wasn't just the decisions it was where they gave them. First 2 Collingwood goals were gifted by the umpires. The ridiculous Selwood 50m penalty cost a goal. Very soft free kick in front of goals against Rocca in the final quarter.

it was bad both ways on a few occasions, but I've seen worse.

Wakelin basically took Mooney's head off in the first quarter and didn't give one away, Mooney slyly tapped it out from under Clement and got a deliberate call, Thomas laid a fair tackle on Gablett and it was deemed high, Nablett had his arms chopped all night and Rocca played with one arm all night again.

Good win, break the drought next week.

both teams had a case for the umpires - probably worked out even for both - if we had lost we would have only ourselves to blame with 18 more inside 50s then them...leave the umps out of it

If we had lost it it would have been because of our poor conversion in the third and first quarters.

I agree.

Now you know how we felt last week. At least you still won the game.
They were worse in your game. That throwing the ball decision in the first was seen by everyone in Australia EXCEPT the umpire. Likewise a holding the ball early on.

Collingwood always get an armchair ride with the umpires. I think they are scared of Eddy.

harley penalised going back with the flight was speechless..unavoidable contact he had eyes only for the ball..pfffft

and course selwoods fitty

those two stood out, but what game goes without bad decisions..just stings that much more in a final and when it ends in a goal

Anyway, the best teams win despite the umpires being against them & you guys did it tonight. One more week & you'll break a 44 year drought. It won't matter who umpires (& how badly they do so).

Firstly can I just say to you a pie supporter...not being patronising...magnificent performance tonight. Great team effort and spirit...and also have enjoyed chatting with you blokes this week.

Secondly I will keep all the subjectivity out of this and not describe any favouritism but IMO the umpires went very close to bringing the game into disrepute tonight. It was that bad it was laughable at times.

Harley's was the worst I've seen all year!

Umpiring flattered Collingwood in my opinion

- mooney and stokes both had players run back, not looking for the ball at all and collect them front on NOTHING. Harley didnt even touch him until the ball was past the pack and he hit his bloody arm as Rocca was flailing...HORRIBLE!

Dont think the umpires had any effect tonight, they rarely do. We always see the decisions as we want them we are all biased. We were all screaming how crap the umpires were but so were you guys.

You won because you were a little better tonight, enjoy next week. Back to the drawing board for us, next season seems a long way away, wish it would hurry up.

One of the teams still in the comp might prove me wrong but I think you're the second best team going around on current form. Our season isn't over and I STILL can't wait for next season!

- it is the commentators and neutral supporters that show it to me. We got shafted.

Dont think the umpires had any effect tonight
- without them you would have been 5 goals down in the first quarter. Completely different game from there.

Good onya for seeing the game with an even point of view. Bravo to the Pies tonight, thanks for a memorable contest. My friends, their kids and mine are so happy to be able to enjoy Grand Final week and are also so glad that it was a valiant effort by both teams. Hate to say it, a shocker of a cliche, but FOOTBALL WAS THE WINNER TONIGHT............

The Heath Shaw and Rocca free kicks late in the game made me nuts.

The Bartel overlook when Burnes had both arms around his waste made no ****ing sense.

To be honest, I don't like being this guy, but had we lost, I'd be blaming the umpires, thought they were a disgrace and they seemed to be biased towards Collingwood.

I couldn't agree more.
I reckon they should take the microphones off 'em. They seem to me like they want to be the centre of attention.
