Watching The Punisher may help with the context of Jon Bernthal's character, but otherwise you can go in completely fresh (apart from obviously watching the previous seasons of Daredevil).

Looking forward to it, when S1 came out it was like a breath of fresh air. Hope this is the same.

I think it was confirmed she was going to be back for this season but delays meant her schedule filled up...she was meant to be Matts love interest I believe, but she will hopefully return at some point.

I can't think of JJ being critical? All I can think of is Punisher being somewhat relevant but that might be covered by DD season two anyway.

It's not critical, but I'd genuinely recommend Echo because;

• it's a really well done standalone story and;
• It kind of illustrates how they're trying to bridge the gap between the old Netflix series and new D+ ones in term of tone.
