How did port do when he was there?
West AdelaideIt appears Burgess has been involved in Headhunting Ian McKeown .....has worked with both Burgess and Nicks at Port Adelaide ....so it's imaginable that a phone call was put in to establish interestWe have handled it well.
It helped that Burgess was leaving the AFL industry so the media didn't have as good a line of sight on the move.
General Manager – Football, Chris Davies said McKeown had been key to the club’s on-field improvement since his arrival and he would be missed.
“Ian arrived at the club in November 2012 and has brought excitement, energy and expertise to our program for every day since. He has been a key driver of our improvement on-field through our training and recovery standards, which have been there for all to see,” Davies said.
“At the end of 2017, his work was rewarded with elevation to the position of Head of High Performance. He adapted to the role very quickly and made it his own, both in setting our program and in his management of our high-performance staff.
“Simply put, Ian McKeown is a world-class high-performance practitioner. We’ll miss him, along with Kristie and Jack, but wish them all the best for their next steps.”

Anyone still doubt Trigger13 ?Swear there was something posted about this a couple of months ago.
Found it, September 7
Ok thanks. Certainly I am no an expert on judging such things but lots of variables at play here I would have thought:I think the injury list is one part, but the other is playing injured players, which we clearly did in finals. Yes we had a great injury list throughout the year, as did a few other clubs, but I'm not sure how much to take out of that when we apparently decided to play Dawson with a broken foot. How many other times did we play guys with injuries that affected performance?
Then there's stuff like running out games, performing in red time, backing up after short breaks, performing consistently across the entire season. Obviously we weren't bad in that area, but were we clearly above the other teams? I wouldn't have said so. We're talking about supposedly the only world class fitness boss in the AFL, if that's true I'd like to think it would manifest as an observable advantage
Have we been able to noticeably improve the overall fitness of any of our guys with less of a tank?
I'm sure there's half a dozen other fitness guys in the system that are on a similar level but no one knows about because they don't have the profile of Burgess
Kids not going by the looks...To be fair, kids are 5 years older…
Ouch. However, my statement stands. He's gone back to Adelaide to be near his kids... they are now 4/5 years older, so perhaps he's not needed as much these days. She's not bitter at all....Kids not going by the looks...
Undoubtedly a huge loss. But, if we don't have all the IP and intel we need to continue without him, then we have utterly failed as a club.
Nah it’s not in their natureOuch. However, my statement stands. He's gone back to Adelaide to be near his kids... they are now 4/5 years older, so perhaps he's not needed as much these days. She's not bitter at all....

Awkward for sure.

They didn't even give us chance to get pissed off.It seems like this whole situation has been managed competently and effectively.
