Should we all out go for him and what should we give up? Just interested in how many of you would be willing to give up quality players for him.

Well i think he is the best defender in the league right now by a fair way. So yes i think we should go for him as hard as possible, who to give up though is the question. I dont want to give up Wirrpunda as i think if he gets his act together could be better than Cousins!!!!

So the number 6 pick would most certainly have to be involved and maybe either Braun, Read or Morrison. Dont know if the Tigers would go for it, i think they need a midfielder seen as Knights is getting on and Daffy is gone. So maybe Brauny.

I know he has huge potential but Gardy is going to be around for a long time.

Morrison and pick #22. If that isn't enough, then maybe throw in a 3rd round pick or a fringe player like Antonovich, Turnball or whatever.

Both first round draft picks shouldn't be traded, for all we know we could pick up another cousins and gardiner with them. I also wouldn't trade two quality players for him, makes no sense to give up two quality players for one quality player.

You think they would go for pick 22 and Morrison?? Gaspar is a key position player and a damn good one at that? I would expect that they would want pick 6 involved.

If they want pick #6 they can kiss their greedy @rses!!

Morrison is a 23 yr old utility with 120 games experience, gaspar is a 25yr old with 146 games experience who can only play in the one position.

Fair enough Gaspar has had a fantastic couple of seasons, but what makes him worth more then morrison and a very early 2nd rd pick? He is only 3 years younger then McIntosh, for all we know he could only be around for another 3-4 seasons.

Another argument against trading our #6 pick is the fact that such a high pick could be the next superstar of the AFL. It could well be a dud, but with 2 very early picks we are more likely then not to pick up at least one star player.....as well as pick 22 being very high considering the depth this years draft is supposed to have.

If i had a choice between gaspar and morrison+#6, i would choose the latter.

IF we got D.Gaspar, where will we groom T.Gaspar for, he isn't going to wait for his older bro to retire, so he would probably go to CHF
IF that happened, where will we groom Andrew McDougall for?

Thats how i see the future of the eagles. If we were to get D.Gaspar then it would simply allow Glass and T.Gaspar more time to develop as players, they wouldn't have to be rushed into key positions.

But i reckon there is no such thing as too much depth. The more the merrier

Oh i agree, 3 and 6 are untradeable but because they are untradeable i think it ends any hope of getting Gaspar. The Tigers wont lose there AA CHB for a Utility and 22 pick. Thats just my opinion though.

Summed it up beautifully mate. However, i think people under-estimate morrison's ability and influence on the game. IMO he could be a great playmaker.

Once again i agree. Morrison is a great player whether he is kicking goals up forward, getting a heap of the ball in the midfield or running off halfback..he can do it all. Obviously there is a ? over the knee recon but Chad is all quality. I wont be terribly worried if we keep him because if he gets back to his best after the recon he will be an asset to the WCE.

From what I hear, Morrisson wants to go and will be traded but not to Richmond.

Gaspar has been offerred $600K a season for three years and will go to Freo unless Richmond match the offer. So the Eagles are not in the picture.

I definately think he should be a target, we need to be able to attract more big name players. Unfortunately it looks like Fremantle has the edge over us with Gaspar, still anything can happen!

Morrison could go to Collingwood.

Looks bad on the Gaspar front, cant believe Freo might beat us to the punch. Cmon Eagles match it or give up a good player. We want Gaspar!
