Good to hear he's been located and is unharmed. Without knowing the details, I hope everyone involved can find it within themselves to forgive one another.
 
heart breaking but an all to familiar scene for thousands of men. The family court system is heavily stacked in the mothers favor. Denying access to the other parent for no reason other than your own controlling ways is nothing less then child abuse. Kids arent't pawns in this game. All the best to you Darren and hope an amicable arrangement will come.

Kids are always massively impacted by a split between their parents. Even an amicable one. Those poor girls had no say in any of this.

Aside from Darren clearly needing help, I hope someone besides the parents is invested in their welfare at some level. Seeing kids used as pawns (regardless of who may be at fault) is heartbreaking.

That this is played out at some level via social media is also rough for them.
 
Speaking as someone who has great respect and relationships with women as family members and friends... I have to say the court system is very biased towards the ex wives. Maybe not as bad as America where the ex husbands are usually ruined if they are middle class or lower post divorces.

Now that society has become equal and with many women with careers and jobs. I think the court system regarding divorces and liabilities post separation should be reformed to remove the bias against the ex husbands. Don't get me wrong many ex husbands are scum and why they are divorced but many are also good people and were or are severely disadvantaged.

Just my two cents.
 
So, so sad. I would never pretend to fully understand the whole situation but I know first-hand how messy breakups can be and how heartbreaking when the kids get dragged into it. It's horrible, manipulative stuff that only really serves to hurt the children.

I hope Darren gets the help from his friends, but most importantly the help of professionals to stop the free-fall.
 
Someone told me today that when this first came out, they rang a Melb radio station and the station contacted Collingwood and was told that they had contacted Jolly and his manager. So they are supporting him.

I really don't know sorry, although maybe he did/does talk nights or similar?

Paul Conners did come out and tweet that Jolly was okay or similar though.
 
It absolutely sucks that decent blokes get treated like this when it comes to Family Court matters. Not gone through it myself but know of plenty who have. In every instance they are just average decent blokes for which there has been absolutely no justification for being treated the way they have. I don't know Darren obviously, but I do know his ex. And I know which one I'd put my money on as being the vindictive one. And its not Darren. I hope somehow things work out for him. Its just bloody evil to poison the minds of the kids in such a way

You go out of your way to highlight the faults you see in me, taking every opportunity to pounce on my posts and encourage me to leave the country and never return.

I just wonder if you ever take note of the reception your views receive from numerous posters on this board. You seriously need to reassess the manner in which you approach people and issues in social media because you rarely come across as an empathetic or likable individual. Occasionally you surprise by posting something which indicates there is sympathetic individual lurking in there somewhere, like the time you were upset by the dead bird's partner a week or so back.

Darren Jolly's situation with his daughters is heartbreaking for him. From reading his post, I could understand him wishing to end his life. I don't understand why you had to make your certainty that he wouldn't suicide the centerpiece of a thread in which everyone else was concerned only for his immediate welfare. You are a strange guy.

Yeah, nah, yeah.

Had a mate that was matter of fact I'm killing myself tomorrow, while drinking as we'd done many times in our families street. He & his younger brother were on the piss, dope & amyl nitrate.

Myself & a mate who were drinking with him, went through the normal process of trying to talk to him & "save" him, thinking it was off your nut talk. He was so casual about it.

He told us we he was going to drive his car into Patterson train station side wall, above ground station.

He did.

I will ask that we be sensitive about the kind of people who might be reading our posts. They could have lost loved ones to suicide (I'll put my hand up), or be struggling themselves.

It's acceptable to use the board to raise an alert about someone in danger or to express sympathy and support, but it is dangerous and irresponsible to be playing guessing games about the behaviour of a person in a dark place.

I would extend the caution to taking sides in the dispute. No one here knows what's going on there. You can support the guy without taking sides.
