who was the dude at the end of the video in sa gear looking to punch someone ? an tim paine just said chill.

maybe de kock told warner his tv adds were crap!
Maybe he told him he had a LG TV to watch Warner play on while he was banging his wife.

Yes, we should live up to the examples of sportsmanship set by Sulieman Benn, Kieron Pollard, Marlon Samuels, Ben Stokes, Harbhajan Singh, Sourav Ganguly, Faf du Plessis, Shahid Afridi, Andre Nel, Sreesanth, Gautam Gambhir, Jimmy Anderson, Stuart Broad etc. etc.

I really think the idea that Australia has had a higher proportion of flogs in the side than other sides is largely a myth fuelled by confirmation bias.

Warner isn't my cup of tea, but this faux anger about a bit of lip on the field is getting rabid. The others on your list is just the tip. SA have never been shrinking violets in that regard. The media run amok with shyte like this because it fills the paper & the airwaves. Its pathetic really.

The 'incident' with Lyon is just a joke surely. they made it sound like he threw the ball at him, & stood over him swearing profanities!

The game of test cricket can be boring enough without sanitising it to complete death.

Maybe we should start sledging in Hindi. That way Davey can say he called QDK a "booosht pick", which as everyone knows means "exalted opponent of mine".

The aussies are prone to this type of behaviour. Happy to hand it out but when someone gives it back they get all upset and throw a tantrum.

If what they say DeCock said is true, then he went to far, but warners behaviour is that of a w***er. To be held back by 2 or 3 teammates is childish behaviour. You're a professional sportsman getting paid megabucks and a role model. If you have a grievance then go through the proper channels. And im guessing Warner gets close or even crosses the line at times but if someone else does it then he wants to beat them up, grow up knobhead

His celebration of the runout was also a disgrace and again makes him look like a dead set w***er.

And that McGrath/Sarwan incident, sarwan had a ripper of a comeback and McGrath loses his shit. McGrath was another who sooked it up when blokes gave it back to him

What South Africa are alleging

The Proteas are privately alleging that Warner referenced de Kock’s sister and mother in some verbals.

Separate reports claim the South African camp also briefed local media that Warner called de Kock a “bush pig”.

A further report from South Africa’s Independent Media — the first news site to publish the leaked CCTV footage from Durban — claims Warner “led an hour long attack on the field” as de Kock and opener Aiden Markram frustrated the Aussie attack on their way to eventually winning the series opener on day five.

South African legend Graeme Smith also said Warner “crossed many personal boundaries”.

The Australian cricket team have been a disgrace ever since Steve Waugh brought in the mental disintegration bullshit. We've had a few outliers like Gilchrist and Hussey but for the most part we've been represented by a bunch of bully deadshits.

How about some sportsmanship you bunch of flogs?
The other thing that resulted from this is as other sides modeled themselves on that phenomenally success Australian generation, they also made sledging a big part of their game. It's easy to say all sides do it now but it didn't just appear from nowhere.

If Warner doesnt get a suspension its a joke. The one common denominator in controversial cricket sledging is Australia. The way they sent off the great champion AB Deviliers was disgraceful.Stark and Hazelwood are tools ,classic flat track bullies. If Warner abused me all day I would get personal with him too.His send off of AB was disgraceful .

That's a very diverse range of athletes lol

I can think of a couple of cricketers with a girl in every port, let's not go down this path, lest we're accused of double standards. We all know why he was sledged we should try to limit discussion to the appropriateness of this rather than it's lurid origins, it's not a Woman's Day forum.

Family etc is totally off limits . So if what is being reported is somewhat correct both De Kock and Warner are way out of line and should be punished accordingly

Given Warners leadership title and his propensity to be a loose canon I just cant see how he keeps being VC .ACB need to be strong with this one

With Candice Warner I think most who even follow sport casually are probably aware of a 'few' incidents in the past
It should not make her an easy target or justify her being the subject of retaliation towards Warner

This is not to defend Warner but he is a hot head who pushes boundaries when batting and fielding, that’s how he gets his confidence going, not dissimilar to De Kock or many others past, present and future.

It’s not a great look to see your leaders acting that way and David is lucky he had Khawaja, Smith and Paine at hand or else we’d be dealing with something much worse than a verbal to and fro.

In this isolated incident where footage is available Warner is in the wrong for motioning to retaliate, we don’t know exactly what De Kock has said to spark the retaliation, (likely a jibe about family or Candice) so he is not squeaky clean out of this either as yet.

Whatever has happened I hope it’s over, that ferociously hard fought cricket is played on the field and that this long awaited series is not shrouded in a he said this/ he said that controversy like in a primary school yard.

Just out of interest because it’s not something we see a lot of in Australia and we generally don’t get access inside the players tunnel either but in a hotbed of emotion it’s probably not ideal that both teams enter and exit via the same staircase either. By the looks of things the dressing rooms are within shouting distance of each other at that particular ground.

Lets see
-One player thinks its ok to verbally abuse another players wife and proceed to do this outside the field of play,in front of the Warners friends and peers.
-Warner reacts with anger, aggression and finger pointing as you would expect from someone standing up for their family.

There is only one grub here that crossed the line and its not David Warner.

can't say many of his teammates in that footage are joining warner in confronting de kock. rather, they're attempting to stop him from making a bigger tool of himself. speaks volumes.

don't pretend that sledging is all witty one liners about fetching balls, dropping cups, and sending batsmen back to the shrink. i doubt warner has an iota of wit in anything he says. he gives it good. expect it to come back. his teammates in that footage are aware how it works.

This ^

That incident was a storm in a teacup.

That Lyon got fined for it is laughable. It’s being almost made it like he deliberately dropped the ball from a height to hurt ABdV.

He dropped it by AB’s side in maybe a bit of a celebration but also as the umpire receives the ball after a wicket is claimed or over bowled.

If the intent was to drop it on AB than that’s not on but I don’t think there was any malice or harm intended.

Warner is a great player, but also a hypocrite and a soft ****

He is well known to have a reputation for being one of the games biggest sledges, and the Aussie team is known to push personal boundaries, even if they deny it. So the bloke can dish it out, but cannot handle it being returned. Good to see his anger issues haven't changed since that infamous bar fight, only difference is someone was there to stop him this time

The Aussies need to grow up, we are probably the worst sledge's in the world, so should be the last to complain about getting some back

You talk shit. Every side sledges. every game. You just follow Australian games so that's all you hear about, mainly because the media wants to blow it up.

Doesn't matter whether it'd AB or not, they are all equal out there. Besides, she was having a go at Markham for running AB out. It was Lyon who copped for regarding AB so get it right.

Starc and Hazelwood flat track bullies....hahaha! You are a dumbass who knows absolutely nothing about cricket. We can ignore what you have to say.

Obviously if someone said something about your partner you'd obviously be too weak to stand up for her.

The one common denominator in controversial cricket sledging is Australia

This is incorrect. Some of the worst incidents in cricket have occurred in matches where Australia wasn't involved. I recall an England v India series in the Tony Greig days which turned particularly nasty, and there have been others.

Australian teams sledge, and I think way too much these days, but to try and pretend other countries don't do it as well is terribly naïve.

Clearly they went for the easy sledge about his wife, maybe did some intel before the series for material as some do. Such an easy target for retaliation, he shouldn't initiate. Davey got triggered cos of her past
