Great article on Mav & Ameet also mentions other recent signings.

“Over the past four months we have re-signed leadership group members David Armitage, Jarryn Geary, Sean Dempster and now Maverick in a strong sign that our leaders are committing themselves to an exciting future at St Kilda.”

AFL: St Kilda player David Armitage says team mate Jake Carlisle is "working hard" to earn the respect of his team mates after arriving at the club in controversial circumstances. Armitage was at Alexandra Headland beach yesterday when his team took to the water for surf drills as part of their pre-season training which will see the squad based here this week.
"There is a lot of water to go under the bridge before round one and he won't play until round three," Armitage said.
"He just wants to fit in with the boys and earn respect and that is the only way he will do it, by working hard.
"He's looking for a fresh start and is fitting in really well and training hard."

Thanks for the encouragement John Bonney !:thumbsu:

http://www.saints.com.au/news/2015-12-15/an-easy-decision-for-savage
St Kilda utility Shane Savage has joined a growing congregation of Saints to commit their futures to the club, by extending his current contract until the end of 2017. On the back of long-term commitments from star midfielders, David Armitage and Jack Steven, earlier in the year, Savage’s one-year extension, sees him join Jarryn Geary and Maverick Weller as players to pledge their future to the club in the last week.
“We have record membership sales at the moment and we have major sponsors coming on board in Pepper Money as well, so I’m really excited.

“It’s really good to see these core players jumping on board. Jack Steven and ‘Armo’ early on in the year as well.

“It’s really important that all these guys jump on board and hopefully all the young fellas can jump on board as well, and follow us.”

Come on peeps. Only 100 votes total so far and Armo is currently 2nd.
Surely we as a supporter base can knock a cyclist for six.

Get behind our man!!!!!!
Follow link above and vote.

About 100 votes have already been cast in the poll, which Lister leads from St Kilda AFL star David Armitage.

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2015-12-21/footballs-a-weighty-issue-for-saint-dunstan

ST KILDA's Luke Dunstan wants to emulate the efforts of teammate David Armitage this summer and shed the kilos as he looks to recapture his promising first-year form.

Armitage, 27, was used as an example by senior coach Alan Richardson.

The much-improved midfielder shed kilos over last pre-season, improved his running ability, and with Jack Steven ran the Saints' midfield in 2015. "I saw what he did last year and it sort of surprised me a little bit, how much you can improve your running just from dropping a couple of kilos," Dunstan said. "What Dave's done has given me a bit of hope."

In 2015, St Kilda finished 14th on the ladder with only six wins to their name.
Although it wasn’t a memorable season, their AFL Fantasy numbers were through the roof with three players averaging in the top 10 average scorers.
David Armitage (MID, $592,000) started the season on fire averaging 121 in his first seven games.
He is now rated as a premium midfielder in the Fantasy game and finished the year with a personal best average of 107.

For those into fantasy footy....
Armo blasted into 2015 with 9 out of the first 10 rounds over 100 pts.

http://dreamteamtalk.com/2015/12/22/st-kilda-afl-fantasy-prices-2016/

David Armitage MID $592K
Armitage started the 2015 season in blistering style averaging 117.1pts from his first 10 games, his final 11 games yielded an average of 97.8pts per game. It was the first time in an 8 year career that Armitage had averaged over 100pts for a season, he is certainly worth a look as a premium starter but keep in mind those first 10 games of 2015. Armitage exceeded 30 Disposals or more in 7 of his first 9 games of 2015 and only once in his last 12 games, fortunately he maintained a healthy score at the back end of the season with a steady diet of tackles when the Disposals started to dry up. Tackles equated for 22.3% of Armitage’s overall score in 2015, it is unlikely he will dip below a 100pt average in 2016.

Pack it in fellas, we've got the 2016 advocate winner right here.

Seriously Skid, I'd be putting a lazy bet on Armo for next years Charlie. Just some loose change or so.

Nah. Thinking I'm lucky Armo was still around at my pick.
Gun player, senior leader, in his prime and lots of interviews / articles quite regularly.

krk004 if he can knock out the sub 90's he'd be half a chance. Priddis showed a workhorse can win a Charlie...

http://www.saints.com.au/news/2015-12-23/what-a-year-for-steven

Along with David Armitage, Steven led an evolving red, white and black engine room in 2015, continuing to help usher in a new wave of youngsters in the form of Jack Newnes, Luke Dunstan and Seb Ross, among others.
With Steven and Armitage, two players with more than 100 games of experience, and firmly in the peak zone of their careers, St Kilda is well placed to compete in the middle section of the ground.

ROFL :D:p:D
Should be able to like that more than once:oops:
Come on, catch me if you can...
Next time don't have the vid on slow mo!!!;)

If you look closely you can see me mouthing the word "Jaeger" , "Jaeger"....

http://www.saints.com.au/news/2015-12-24/big-numbers-longterm-contract-huge-year

Big numbers + long-term contract = huge year
2015 was an enormous year for St Kilda ball magnet David Armitage. The Queenslander not only produced a career-best season, he also committed his future to the club by signing a three-year contract extension, tying him to the Saints until the end of 2019.

After building his name as bullocking inside midfielder, Armitage shed some size from his frame last summer, and in the process increased his outside run to balance his game and become a more potent, all round weapon.

The 27-year-old burst out of the blocks last season, collecting 30 or more disposals in seven of the opening nine games of the year, including a career-high 45 possessions to lead the Saints to a remarkable come-from-behind victory over the Western Bulldogs in round six.
"The umpires were heard discussing whether they could give him 6 Charlie votes for that game!" - Ok, that was my little edit for accuracy! Hhm,,,

Whilst he didn’t quite maintain the leather acquiring rage across the entire season - not many do unless their name is Gary Ablett or Dane Swan - Armitage put together a stunning 2015 campaign to emerge as one of Alan Richardson’s key contributors.

The game breaker played all 22 games in 2015, averaging 28.4 possessions (2nd most at St Kilda), 12.4 contested possessions (1st), 6.2 clearances (1st) and 6.0 tackles (2nd), to finish runner-up behind Jack Steven in the Trevor Barker Award.

Alongside Steven, Armitage led an emerging midfield group that still boasts the class and experience of Leigh Montagna, but also has a wave of youth coming through the ranks to help lead the club into the future.

With both, Armitage and Steven leading the way, not just on-field but in terms of committing to the club long-term, the Saints have two fine role models to chaperone the clubs future into the next phase.
