But I think Tarrants will still get it on the simple fact, it was a pack mark which generally looks better, but David Bourkes should be a condender and maybe, just maybe.......

The roar was unbelievable, I think every supporter rose with him, what a gem, one of the greatest!!

i reckon one-on-one marks are always harder to take and harder to get a ride on than pack marks
but its too hard to split the bourke and tarrant mark

Good mark Bourke! Definately a contender.
However, I think Tarrant should win for sure. It simply looks more spectacular.

Even though Bourke's would have been harder to take, Tarrant seems to be going along smoothly ...

Bourke's mark was a clinker!

But bias aside (does this give me a licence of opinion topdon?)...Tarrant's is one for the ages!!!

RF#1, Tarrant's easier to take? He dragged it in from 2 feet from the line of his leap while being scragged in a pack of 8-9 players. Outstanding!!!

Well if you want to know my 'unbiased' opinion....Chris Tarrant will win the Mark of the Year in a canter.

It was made to look even better with Neitz following Tarrant all the way to the ground after taking the mark ontop of the pack.

RF#1, pack marks have a hight degree of difficulty when compared to 1-v-1 marks.

FIGJAM...i believe opinions of those who have an obvious bias shouldn't be taken into consideration. I'm obviously going to say that D.Fletcher is the best fullback in the league, but then again, i have his 2 selections in the past 2 years to back that up. So...are the AA selectors biased also.

Anyway...this debate is pointless. I was pointing my frustrations at PP anyway.

Bull****, Chris tarrants mark was clearly better, i dont barrack for richmond or collingwood, but i can see Tarrants mark is still definately mark of the year so far. Bourkes wouldnt have been harder to take! He didnt have to climb over about 10 blokes to get it.

No way! There have been heaps that have been better than that. Not just Tarrents...but Brad Johnsons (against geelong), Matty Robbins (against adelaide) and Chris Grants (against Sydney) That is just Bulldogs marks that i can think of. And wasn't Ottens mark the other week better than that?

Just standing up for my Brother topdon! It is frustrating that Collingwood people's opinions are so often fobbed off as being biased.

Generally, having an inside knowledge of our own players, allows us to talk up the attributes of our own players. When I say Nick Davis is a gun, I'm not saying so because I hope he is a gun! I say it because I have seen him progress into a highly competent young footballer with outstanding skills! It's not always biased, rather insightful.

PP is entitled, Collingwood supporter or otherwise to offer his opinion, albeit on such a subjective matter, is surely informed enough to make a judgement.

Mike Sheehan made a judgement that Fletcher is better than Buckley. He is the best fullback inthe league, although Hay will take that mantle soon.

In terms of Sheehan's opinion, my opinion is that Fletcher is not even worthy of being a "Royal Wiper" to His Highness, Nathan Buckley. I am informed when I say this and can therefore do so without bias.

Face the fact, Chris Tarrants mark is clearly mark of the year so far. Of course there has been lots of other contenders (johnson, bourke, ROBBO !, hay, davis) But his is the best so far.

Tarrants second mark against Melbourne was better than David Bourkes mark. tarrants first mark was wayyyy better than Bourkes, you see about 8 players and you think "well no one will get that" then wham bang, Tarrant comes out of nowhere kinda looking like he was shot horizontal out of a cannon.

But then again they are different players. Bucks wouldn't make a good fullback, nor would Fletch make a good rover (but i think he'd be a handy wingman).

Most definitely biased!

But please also note the careful in both the title and my initial body of text.

I did only suggest that Bourke was a challenger. I did not say that he was an exclusive challenger and I did not preclude the likes of Ottens, Johnson, Grant, Burton, et al from also being classed as challengers!

Bourkes mark differs from the others because he got no actual ride - he actually jumped up and landed on Kelly's shoulders. Nobody propelled him up there but himself. (Johnson's mark was similar in this respect).

Tarant himself freely admits he got a ride which pushed him further up!
