I have a bit of respect for Baker and McKenzie. Even when they post up potentially damaging articles, you know that at least they have solid research and detail behind them.

Caro, Fatprick, Ralphy - I have literally 0 respect for these guys. They blur the lines between opinion and fact and sensationalize what they write in order to maximize the impact. They hide behind "thources" and blindly follow whatever they say without doing the proper research, then when called out on it, they claim "don't shoot the messenger". They bay for blood despite not knowing the real facts, they crave seeing people sacked despite the facts, and they let personal vendettas influence their articles. They are garbage.

6 month of vile garbage isn't warranted towards Essendon/employees on what they might "allegedly" done. I’m tipping that looking after a club about to implode, an ACC investigation, an ASADA investigation etc etc would cause a bit more stress than a newspaper article.

And for decades they largely have escaped it...... but they come up with the mother of all scandals when they finally had one. Actually I think it's really sad. These are people who are fighting for the survival of their club. Having us being smug pricks is only rubbing salt into the wound. As much as they have frustrated the crap out of me for the last five months, they are only doing what each of us would do if it were our club in the spotlight.

He's not stealing money.

I get what he's saying.

He volunteered his time part-time to the club to try and make it better.

Unfortunately it appears he was let down by others in an area that was not under his direct control. He's a scapegoat. He's largely just the mouthpiece of the board.

Whilst ultimately the board has responsibility for the club as a whole, it doesn't sit well with me that they cop so much over day to day operations. There are very well paid, 'professional' staff that have responsibility for those matters.

I agree that the media drums up stories to sell papers but there is usually some truth behind the myth they tell. It's clear that the club is at the very least guilty of gross negligence ( I believe poor governance is the way Essendon are spinning it). While the fans might not like what they read in the media, it is not the media that actually put the players on a program that treated them like guinea pigs.

I personally don't buy the idea that Evans quit because of the stress of the investigation. After soldiering on for 5-6 months he all of a sudden decided to quit when the report is going to be released in about 2 weeks? If he honestly believe that he will come out of this unscathed surely he would have managed to hold on for two weeks before he was vindicated or maybe just step down until the report is released and take on the duties again when he's cleared.

Why do so many of you go for that angle.
I for one don't really care who coaches the club just as long as that person has the respect of the playing group.
The players want Hird as their coach. They want to play for him. If any of them even slightly thought James may have deceived them it would've been evident by now.
So many of you say you feel for the players and hope they are cleared as long as all the officials go - especially Hird.
The players feel differently. Doesn't that tell you something?

Oh come on, Evans is not quitting for health reasons. If someone believes they are innocent and holds on for 5-6 months, he doesn't turn around and quit a couple of weeks before the report comes out, a report that he believes will clear him and his club.

Plus, what could have caused him undue stress? Apparently, according to him and Hird, they did nothing wrong and once the truth comes out they will be vindicated, so what caused him ill health affects if they believe 100% they are clear?

You would think that if you were convinced that the truth will vindicate you in a matter of weeks, you would be in great shape a couple of weeks before you get exonerated.
