It just shows you here to bag essendon and you don't even have a clue on whats actually happening

Your join date is 4 days after the ACC press conference isn't. I can't remember the exact date. I wonder what your motivation for joining was. Essendon spin brigade

Sadly, there is always a human toll when organizations are in crisis. The people who make up the organization individually must cope.

But make no mistake whatsoever Essendon fans. This wasn't done by the actions of ASADA or the AFL or opposition supporters. This was done in-house. Essendon is to blame for all the stress the individuals at the club feel. The club did this to itself.

Also, Essendon fans, remember to save some of your care and concern for Robinson and Dank, two other former employees who no doubt have found this crisis difficult. They too have families. They too would have found the situation very stressful. You have just as much care and concern for them too don't you?

Or perhaps they are now not considered worthy of it.

We don't know it's nothing serious yet. I'm amazed people on here are claiming he deserves it or that he's faking. Pretty shocking stuff hey mod?
This board is moderated by the same group who look after the main board. The rules of this sub-board state that mods from other boards aren't bound by any extra responsibilities, so if you see a mod breach the rules you should report it. If not, STFU.

Yes silly us, it was witnessed by Essendon people, even though the facts are that it wasn't a heart attack, yet here we have Essendon liars saying it was a heart attack. Like I said you people keep stooping to new lows, your club is a cheating disgrace.
You know what a heart attack is right? There is no way we can claim it wasn't a minor cardiac event

seems that Evans has decided that he couldn't be the one that sacked James Hird.

Well, you support North, so that isn't really a surprise.

But seriously, of course you have a right to feel a little bit angry. I mean, it's hard not to - what, with all the damaging articles in the newspapers, you could be forgiven for thinking Essendon has already been found guilty.

Generally, the sports science department isn't an area that a chairman concerns himself with...

Honestly, if you think that if Evans knew his players were (allegedly) being given banned, non-human approved, potentially dangerous substances that he wouldn't have tried to stop it, or at least ask serious questions, you're deluded. Everyone at the club believed that what they were doing was a-ok and above-board and so there was no need to question any of it. And hey, they still might be proven right in the end.

The players obviously don't seem to care that David Evans put their lives at risk - the response by them to tonight's revelations has been pretty emphatic.

But, you'll just reply "Essendon knew exactly what they were doing, they're cheating scum, DIE" anyway so I don't know why I'm bothering.

The question is not whether Evans knew about the banned and unapproved substances, the questions is why didn't Evans have processes in place to make sure that no players health was jeopardized in the first place?

You can claim that Evans had no need to concern himself with the sports science department, but his position surely was to make sure that there were right processes in place.

Why ask us to feel for Evans, when he failed in his job to make sure processes were in place to protect players from individuals injecting them with unapproved substances?
It seems to me, if you want sympathy for somebody, then make sure that person is someone that had enough sense to protect other peoples health?

Mr Evans was treated by club medical staff after complaining of breathlessness, having a light head and struggling with his vision after the match.

Sounds like a few hours in every Friday night I spent down at Docklands in the mid to late 90s.

Toughen up Toorak born buttercup.

You're playing big boys games now. Real jacks and everything.

Hope you haven't done anything really shady. Like invest in a company that was using your players as guinea pigs.

That would give anyone a heart/panic attack.

He wouldn't have though ... would he?

Sounds like me on the fifth day of the first test....

No . You are WRONG again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Since you are wrong on this point it is safe to assume all your points are wrong also

excellent assumption, S0 you could be on to something, but I am not prepared to consider it until the report is released

If I had to guess with Evans, the attack was probably a combination of any number of the following...

- exhaustion
- sleep deprivation
- undereating
- prolonged periods of stress

Not ideal and I wish him well health wise, but I don't think it provides a convincing account of the rapid change in mindset from Thursday's "this is not a farewell dinner" defiant proclamation.

I really can't help but suspect the landscape of the investigation shifted seriously in that period.

If Bruce were here tonight I'm sure he would say the irony (of the overseer of the questionable "fitness" program in question suffering a health problem from the repercussions) was delicious. Would he? "Natural justice?" It's delicious. Is it?

OK, I know this is a heated topic.
I also realise that this topic is only going to get more heated as time goes on.
But posters need to realise that the rules of the board still apply.
If anyone gets personal, they will be carded.
Posters also need to realise that Essendon supporters have a right to express their opinions and defend their club just as much as anyone else.

Do they have a right to compare ASADA, the media and the rest of us to the KKK?
