it's you are a disgrace. not 'your'.
example..Where is your club at now?
or............You're kidding me!!!! The ' makes it into 'you are'.
So, if you want to test which one it should be, try saying it like...'you are kidding me!!'. Then you'll see that 'your a disgrace' is indeed incorrect, and should be 'you are a disgrace, or shortened to you're a disgrace.
hope this helps.:)

The second person to take the fall for hird. Any respect hird had remaining from his playing days has now well and truly evaporated
I used to love and respect Hird. Now I'm truly disgusted with him.

Hypothetical - If Demetriou had called Evans to warn him that his club was under investigation then wouldn't he be doing Essendon, Hird and Evans a massive favour at considerable risk to himself? Therefore I can't understand why Hird would want to screw him over by indicating to the press that this is what Demetriou did.

Evans to Hird - 'I wonder if we're the club that's being investigated'
Hird to Evans - 'Yeah if only we new before hand so we could self report and mitigate our cirumstances'
Phone rings - 'Hi David its Andrew Demetriou. At great personal risk to myself i've called to tell you that it's your club that's being investigated by the ACC. Now you can get on the front foot and self report.'
Evans to Demetriou - 'Thanks Andrew, what a friend you are. I'll let James know.'

I don't understand the angle of the Hird camp on this one. Basically they've pissed off the AFL CEO, driven a wedge between Hird and Evans and dobbed in a bloke who tried to help.

There are heaps of pieces to the puzzle out there. We know a lot of the story. It just needs to be made official.

But this important tid bit we don't know. When the shit hits the fan, you don't take calls from the infected, and you don't ring back from missed calls. It's the corporate way! So why was Demetriou in contact Evans that night? The only answer is because Demetriou himself was potentially in trouble and wanted some control over the situation. What trouble, I don't know.

Most likely it could be the AFL had enough evidence in 2012 to prosecute Essendon, but swept it under the carpet and just warned them to get off the dope, so to speak. Old Boys Club stuff. But now the ACC is involved and Vlad wouldn't want ASADA doing a sweep through AFL House, would he? So he gets Essendon to self report, and tries to control the narrative of the ASADA inquiry. Hird assumes he is one of the Old Boys, but finds out Vlad is about to sell him out. Once the evidence stacks up for Hird about this, he sells out Vlad. That was back a while when Hird was saying he will tell the truth to ASADA. That was a statement pointed directly at Vlad. When Hird realizes the gig is up last week he leaks the phone story which does a hit on Evans too, and Evans can't take it any more.

Do any Essendon supporters here blame Hird for Evans breakdown and resignation?

Nope its all Caros fault

...I would not wish this situation on any of your clubs as you, like we Bombers fans love or club. But should this befall your team, I only hope your club's chairperson will handle themselves with a similar degree of integrity.

This "situation" didn't "befall" Essendon, its coach initiated it, its football department went along with it, its board didn't properly supervise. The position Essendon finds itself in is not someting that happened to it, it's key personnel caused it, defend it and are directly responsible for the mess the club is in. It isn't the fault of the press, it isn't Caroline Wilson's doing, it isn't ASADA, ACC or anyone else picking on Essendon. Whether the Chairman has "integrity" or not is irrelevent, he didn't do his job properly.

If it was the club I supported, I'd be furious, not with the media, other clubs, ASADA, fate but with the personnel who caused it. I wouldn't be wasting my time defending the "integrity" of those responsible or proclaiming devotion to an organisation which allowed its players to be used as guinea pigs, dropped ethical and governance standards, I'd be hounding the club to get to the bottom if it, get rid of the perpetrators, "ethical", legendary or whatever, and demand that the club be restored to respectability. Perhaps you are doing those things and posting on Bigfooty is an aside, if you are not, then you should be.

So it wasnt the pressure placed on him by the media?
No.

If it came out of David Evans' mouth I think we can assume it's a lie.

He hasn't been truthful from the moment this story broke - and he continued to lie up to and including his 'resignation'.

The ASADA report looks like leading to a criminal investigation.

There is no way the AFL can have him sitting there the day the report is released. So rather than him having to resign the day the report is handed down in shame, he's doing it now so the brain-dead that believe his lies can get one last opportunity to blow wind up his arse before he's shamed.

Another constant in this saga has been Essendon's spin machine.

Why would you think this is anything but more spin?

6 month of vile garbage isn't warranted towards Essendon/employees on what they might "allegedly" done. People ask me why aren't I angry and I respond with "so far we know two tenths of **** all what has happened and ill wait till everything is made public and sanctions are handed out if any at all." but because football is built up on rivalry emotion replaces common sense and the majority of people can't see pass their own views.
The "6 month of vile garbage" has resulted because certain people at the Essendon Football Club decided to get involved in questionable behaviour and have compounded the issue by poor management and communication. Far more than "two tenths of ****" is known about the issue by the public and most definitely the media and whilst a lot of what is about maybe well be speculation the bottom line is that there is a decided smell about the EFC at the moment. After sanctions are handed down by the AFL, and they will be, I look forward to reading your opinion on the whole matter.

and this sums up the entire anti- Essendon camp. They ASSUME its a lie based on.............? Then make their final judgment

What on earth are you on about Jobe?

This site is full of opinions on what should happen in all aspects of football.

Very few, if any, of which have any bearing on what actually happens. What makes you think otherwise?

My view on this particular matter for instance is that all involved in organizing or overseeing this debacle should go. That doesn't mean that I expect Essendon to consider that view.

People are just offering opinions here.

Exactly!

If supporters can't support, criticise and debate issues on this site, it will be a ghost town.

The key is to (hopefully) do so in an intelligent and informative way - otherwise threads and topics suffer and there's no real point of reading any of it.

If it was "the media" causing the angst, they'd be camped outside Eddie McGuire's house or snooping to get big stories about Richmond. They would all be great, saleable stories. Media don't have it in for Essendon. They aren't hounding them for the fun of it. Essendon's actions have created the biggest football story in years - the media is just responding to those actions and the public's interest.

And btw no-one who camps out on this forum to discuss every bit of news about this issue at all hours of the day and night has any place on the moral high ground about media intrusiveness. We are the audience that keeps them looking through bins.

Most Essendon supporters are defending their club not hanging out for media reports. Just saying

At risk of running the discussion around in circles, how much more can a club do then:

a) Suspend those directly involved in the fitness program
b) Call for an independent review of club practices
c) Agree to ASADA to investigate and co-operate with investigations
d) Act on independent review (resignation of Robson)
e) Wait for the ASADA investigation to complete before acting further.

Should we be calling for Hird's head? Whilst players clearly still support him? Before the ASADA investigation is complete? I'm suspect many opinions of Essendon supporters will change once the ASADA report is complete, but until then, I see nothing wrong with fan standing by their team.
