In all seriousness I wonder if this means a change in strategy for Essendon. It was reported that Hird thought Evans was being too soft and bending over too much for the AFL and ASADA. Hirds Brown Shirts may have installed a puppet that will be much more hardlined and take the Cronulla route. Probably all too late.

Evans I feel has held the EFC together over the last five months but given the storm that is brewing they will either just cop their wack or fight, given that Hird is still there they may be getting ready for a fight. They will need someone new to do that.

He's working as a physiotherapist now in Corio so he's taken a different direction, so i'm not sure he cares. So he probably thinks " be buggered if I'm going to take the rap over this". Essendon's looks like get done over good and proper anyway so he has nothing to lose.

Sorry but surely you can understand why supporters of opposition clubs find it hard to support the type of views Essendon supporters hold on this subject.

I don't think anyone is at fault in the coaching department, at all, i've always held that view from the start regardless of what Hird said. 'I take absolutely no responsibility' wouldn't have exactly flown with the media would it?

Hird may have been a supporter of doing something different, pushing the boundaries or however else you want to word it (legally of course, you don't need superhuman intelligence to work that much out) but in the end guys above him are in charge of working out the particulars of it, that's their job and they didn't do it properly.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's 'karma' or deserved, but there have been reports that Dean Robinson has also suffered health issues and according to team Robinson, is the victim of a smear campaign. The person best placed to take the fall is Robinson, Essendon can't afford to let what the media believes to be truth be the truth. Media can't really afford to not report what they believe to be the truth because a person is suffering from stress and stress related illnesses.

Essendon's behaviour towards it's former employees has been disappointing.

Were happy for Dank to be painted as a rogue agent. Said nothing when McVeigh teed off at Reimers. Tried to defend Hird by dropping Robinson in it.

Plus of course threatening to sue Fairfax if they reported the story, and selectively leaking ASADA investigator comments. They're fighting a PR war and they're prepared for casualties on both sides.

Evans has to take some responsibility for all of that, of course. If they had their time again maybe they'd do things differently, I don't know.

Evans showed up after the Bombers had done the deed. He had absolutely no part in it. He was only there for 5 months

so he is basically said get the heck out of here i am not wearing any of this shit correct? Because his desicions from when this broke are proving to be total and utter failures...and now to exacerbate his failed desicions he jsut says ceeyas..and everyone is saying its ok because its tough etc?
