Wouldn't look good if he just dropped his bundle and left as soon as he found out.
He would have tried to do his best with what information was given him at the time, probably fairly tainted information depending on who he was talking to.

I'm sure in hindsight he would have done things differently but none of us have that chance.

Out of everyone at the club with some semblance of responsibility he was the last one that deserved to go

For me at least, the issue he'll shed light on is more the extent of Hird's involvement, and whether Essendon have misrepresented that.

It's possible that Robinson was Caroline Wilson's source for the article claiming Hird was the 'architect' behind the program, or that Essendon thought he was, which might explain their response.

Evans resigned for the same reason Robson did, they want out of the club so that they can be out of sight, out of mind when the ASADA report gets handed down and shit really hits the fan.

Robson got out early, found another position easily. Evans is trying to do the same, plus he also has his position on the Vic Police board to think about. how would it look for a person on that board to cop the blame for a cheating program as a sporting club? Hes hoping that if he resigns, people will forget him like they did Robson.

Hird on the other hand has been emboldened by EFC supporters who have suspended reality to support him no matter what, so he thinks he is invincible so he is going to try and ride out the storm. The irony is that the EFC supporters who have stuck by him, are the reason he is staying, and the end result is he will be bringing the entire club down with him, everyone, players included.

Have been on the fence regarding how guilty Essendon are for awhile, but with people resigning all over the place, it certainly doesn't look like a proclamation of innocence. Having said that, maybe Evans was just forced into it due to overwhelming public pressure.
