On the flip side, a good, loyal chairman also wouldn't bail on the club he loves on the eve of its darkest day.

Whateley reporting that Evans had a bit of a health incident that has tipped him into making this decision.

Evans resigned for the same reason Robson did, they want out of the club so that they can be out of sight, out of mind when the ASADA report gets handed down and shit really hits the fan.

Robson got out early, found another position easily. Evans is trying to do the same, plus he also has his position on the Vic Police board to think about. how would it look for a person on that board to cop the blame for a cheating program as a sporting club? Hes hoping that if he resigns, people will forget him like they did Robson.

Hird on the other hand has been emboldened by EFC supporters who have suspended reality to support him no matter what, so he thinks he is invincible so he is going to try and ride out the storm. The irony is that the EFC supporters who have stuck by him, are the reason he is staying, and the end result is he will be bringing the entire club down with him, everyone, players included.

$60,000 plus for "vitamins" & "ointments" Dank, Robinson, Robson, Evans all gone with more to come.
Even without ASADA/WADA sanctions, the afl will impose their own penalties for "bringing the game into disrepute"

Was it worth it for "vitamins"& "ointments" Some men of integrity will pay this despicable scandal for the rest of their lives. Maybe they should have know about it but didn't. Have been on the fence regarding how guilty Essendon are for awhile, but with people resigning all over the place, it certainly doesn't look like a proclamation of innocence. Having said that, maybe Evans was just forced into it due to overwhelming public pressure.
