I think people would take Essendon's players and supporters more seriously on this bleeding heart if they had given even one iota of passion towards Dean Robinson. The hypocrisy is staggering.

The only people who have offered support to Robinson are the Geelong players, he has been treated disgracefully and I am pleased he is going to finally have his say, as to this point he is the only one who has held his counsel.

Do you know the meaning of hypocrite? Obviously not.

How has this thread not been locked yet. Pathetic effort at moderating. "oh but you need to report posts" Yeah right, who is going to report 300 posts just to get some moderation. Looking forward to being carded by the "impartial" mods for breaking forum rules. Blatant trolling is fine but don't dare question it.
You are not going to get mods following the thread post by post.

It's not practical and they don't have the time. Quite understandably.

It's why they didn't follow the often hysterical Judd chicken wing thread either. You had to report posts there as well.

Do what they ask and report posts you think break the rules. If you don't feel like reporting 300 of them, just report the ones you consider to be the worst.

I suggest you try educate yourself a bit before wondering so much. Not one thing you said is true.

So David Evans didn't take a position with Vic police about 3 weeks after this scandal broke???

"Only Essendon of the Victorian power bloc was absent - for it was David Evans' first day on the board of Victoria Police, so he had been an early apology. Then the peptide scandal broke and Ian Robson was otherwise occupied. But the Bombers were in support."

A bit like Robson - Evans had to go for what happened while he was in charge, probably should have gone sooner, but you can understand them wanting to stay and keep things steady for a while. Like Robson, far less culpable for the pharma experiments than everyone directly involved, but still accountable.

Despite everything I also have sympathy for someone who has tried to look after the club and the players against huge odds, a cost to his own health, family life and business, just for the love of it.

I don't understand the timing at all. If the health scare was so serious it made immediate resignation the only option, when it hadn't been on the cards at all the day before, that would be terrible - but you'd think it would be the first reason given, not hidden in leaks after the long official release. And surely he would be in hospital under care, not sitting down with the PR team to nut out a release and media strategy. I guess now that everyone has started leaking like a sieve, we'll all find out eventually.

The news came out while I was at the second half of the MCG game. All I heard anyone say - and everyone said it - was "Hird will be last man standing." Again like Robson, going with class turns Evans from one of the bad guys into a scapegoat.

If only Hird had stepped down when Evans asked him to.. the Bombers may not have played so well but the media sh!tstorm wouldn't have been nearly as intense. Evans would probably still be there.

I'm not stating it as fact, just a possibility
So you're speculating.

Something you've been regularly critical of all those evil non-Essendon supporters for doing.

I know all of you's will scoff and shout out delusional with what I'm about to post.

If Hird packed his shit up and walked out you all would be chanting how gutless he is for jumping ship, the mob would just say the opposite an you can't win.

If you like this next statement or not I don't care but it is the truth. If the club was handed crippling sanctions similar to Carlton the only person who would turn the club around the quickest would be Hird due to his support. I believe since he was happy to coach during the good days (winning a lot of games) he should be made to rectify the problem and face the brunt. (only if he still had full support of the board, sponsors, players and supporters)

But if he is found to have been directly involved endorsing Illegal s2 PED's that's bye bye.

Whats that got to do with his capacity to work in the role?

and you took this long to work out why he quit as your president??? clap clap ... well done.

He cant wear two hats when the shit really hits the fan...... but I'm guessing he wont want to wear the other hat either soon.

Here's the difference, I'm not stating it as fact and basing my entire view on the misconception. I was answering a post claiming it was definitely not a cardiac issue.

Unlike many many posters who have incorrectly used possibilities like the widespread use of Hexarelin as fact and are now basing the rest of their opinions on this possible misconception

Spot the difference?

If nothing else, this whole drama has been an interesting social exercise in so far as non Essendon supporters finding common ground over a much loathed enemy.

I am really not sure what it achieves but what the heck, if it makes people feel better about themselves then why not I say. To be fair, there are some cheap shots flying around about the key players in this story. David Evans has done what any other club chairman would have done in a similar situation. I cant say whether he has lied intentionally as unlike 98% of pundits, I actually don't know what has transpired. I refuse to simply go with the odd media morsel preferring to wait for the official findings rather than make a dick of myself before knowing the facts. What I can say is that David Evans has been dignified throughout and based upon the Tweets coming from his players today, he is much respected and loved. Whilst there may be some players at Essendon that harbor discontent towards the club for the situation they have been placed in (and I cant really blame them if that's the case), what I can say with confidence is that despite what may or may not have happened, they support Evans and Hird emphatically. Surely if there was a group entitled to express the sort of vitriol being authored on these forums, it would be the Essendon players themselves. And who knows, maybe this will happen in the future. But for now, these players are standing as one behind their coach and chairman. Blind faith perhaps? Or possibly out of respect for the protection and support provided by Evans. I would not wish this situation on any of your clubs as you, like we Bombers fans love or club. But should this befall your team, I only hope your club's chairperson will handle themselves with a similar degree of integrity.

I can assure you this has nothing to do with Essendon but everything to do with an illegal drug program in a club. Cannot see any different reaction if this happened at Hawthorn or Western Bulldogs. You just have a case of delusion of grandeur mixed with some sense of victimization.

So from now on I won't see you run the "wait for the results of the investigation" line when opposition supporters speculate?

That's good then.
