Not sure Paul Little is the messiah some Bomber fans are making him out to be. " Takes no prisoners, gets what he wants, will sue their arse off, is as hard as they come etc etc"

Clearly did well in business on the whole but not exactly universally admired. Didn't always get what he wanted either - ask Graeme Samuel & the ACCC. Fell out with his business partner at Toll and oversaw some very questionable remuneration practices (of which he was a chief benefactor).

We take whatever positive news we can get right now.

well he will definitely take a different approach than Evans. Most successful business people are ruthless negotiators and don't take shit from anyone.

Will be an interesting episode in this saga

Except that attempted murder is a different charge to murder. Yes you will be punished for the intent, but if you didn't actually kill someone you aren't going to be sent to jail for as long as someone who did.

Same applies here (only if guilty which the jury is still out on)

Totally agree. It may have some bearing but some Essendon supporters are still arguing that the investigation is totally irrelevant because it's not (maybe) performance enhancing. Attempted Murder isn't murder but it's not jaywalking either ...

True. It will likely come down to what the main aim of the supplement program was. If it is shown that we were clearly trying to use AOD for onfield performance gains then we'll cop harsh penalties- performance enhancing or not

If they were genuinely using it for recovery purposes i.e to treat injuries etc then thats where the grey area comes in. Will still likely get sanctioned but in this case its more like jaywalking :p

Those substances are NOT APPROVED FOR IV USE IN THE DOSAGE OF EFC. There may very well be long lasting health consequences. It's more like manslaughter than jaywalking.

With our legal system manslaughter would probably only get a good behaviour bond anyway!

If he decides to take legal action against the AFL any hope of leniency is gone, things could become much grimmer for Essendon. If they're silly enough to go down that path it's going to be fun and games and I doubt it will end well for the bombers.

Well I wasn't. What your club was doing to your players really is close to manslaughter, it's no laughing matter.

We don't even know half of the full story yet. Lets refrain from comparing officials at essendon to actual murderers before we get the report.

And for all we know, AOD9604 could have as many long term health effects as sugar pills

well at least we might have an easier time paying fines

The point is, we don't. That is the whole point. Should anything happen to your players later in life, it's manslaughter.

I'd be interested in knowing how many Bomber players their fans would sacrifice to keep James Hird as coach.. Hird could have stepped down months ago, Evans would still be there and the public outcry would not be nearly as loud.

No it's not. It is not hypothetical that we don't know the long term effect of AOD9604. We actually don't. That is why there are strict guidelines for human drug testing.

it is hypothetical that there will be serious long term effects. And given there are other drugs of a similar nature that are fine- unlikely

only if he is culpable
Im sure the board would have removed him by now if he clearly was

In her latest article, Wilson writes ""Hird threw his chairman under a bus" ; under the headline "Evans thrown under a bus". In the very same article she says Evans' family would have made him step down because of health and family issues. If you had just resigned from a position due to stress/health issues, would you appreciate a headline in a major newspaper proclaiming your demise via a large vehicle?

Well then, why don't you give some AOD9604 to your kids to help them get over that twisted ankle?

well i don't have kids. And even if i did im not a doctor so i wouldn't administer anything other than probably panadol myself without checking it first with a doctor/ someone who knows more about drugs than me.

I'm sure some person with medical expertise at essendon would've checked AOD at some point

I'm not sure how he could be any less culpable than the CEO or Chairman - and they've both gone.

Hird would want to survive this now. If he doesn't, you might have thrown away a CEO and a great Chairman when you didn't need to.

it depends. Some things aren't part of his job. I don't think hiring sports scientists fell under his portfolio. So if it turns out all along that Stephen Dank was at fault- its more of a governance issue which falls under CEO and chairman or possibly football operations head.
