Just mentioned on SEN that Hird came straight from the medical room where Evans was still being examined to his press conference. Explains his emotional state.

Well he'd just come from the side of a close friend who was being examined by doctors after some worrying physical symptoms. The doctors didn't know what was actually wrong with him yet.
It just explains why he was a bit more emotional than usual. Not sure how you'd be in that immediate situation.

Get your hand off it you tool. The blokes sick, he'd just collapsed and nobody knew what was wrong with him. So a few of his friends and colleagues might have overreacted. So what, that happens when people are concerned.
I doubt you have any friends, but if you did, they'd be the same if it were you.

see thats the problem. when you try and spin every possible angle of this issue then people start to think you manipulate and lie at every opportunity.
do you seriously expect people to believe that he actually collapsed, after all the crap that's come from essendon.

I spoke to a member of an Essendon coterie today and put it to him that Evans resigned because he didnt want to be the one to sack his mate Hird. He just bowed his head and nodded in the affirmative. He then said it such a shame that its come to this.
I then asked him why has Hird allowed others to take the fall thus far when he said he would take full responsibility. He shook his head again, and said he doesn't know. He did say a good CEO in Robson is gone because of it.

If they've done nothing wrong, then surely Evans shouldn't be stressed and taking "turns", as they have nothing to worry about right?
Secondly, if you held such a priveleged position that your Father also held and was a legacy in the Family name of Evans and the EFC, wouldn't you just take some leave instead of throwing in a job with a Club that you so dearly love?

Hird's emotional state? I saw that after the match media conference. Butter wouldn't have melted in his mouth. I'll give Hirdy one thing, he doesn't just seem unaffected by it all, I think he is unaffected by it.
Anyway, things have fallen his way according to the media. The new man at the helm is firmly in Hird's corner.
