Great performance on the weekend.

The debate over full forward is all but over.

Still dont think he is a long term solution, more a makeshift fullforward. Probably part of the coaching staff's development of him as a player.

I think the club is still looking at McDougall and Johnson for FF long term.

Anyone else pick up on the fact Cox spent a lot of time up forward against Carlton? maybe the coaching staff are trying to make him less one-dimensional in terms of where he plays on the ground

I did. I think it would add another string to our bow if our ruckmen can also, if their having a bad day, be put in the forward line and kick 3 or 4 goals. Gardi CAN do that and if Sux can then all the better!

It certainly is.....nothing against Porno personally. I just think we have to start giving these young tall guys a chance!

We have to plan for the future, and its the young talls who are gonna be thier in 5 years to win us the flag not wilson!

Yeah thats true, but dont forget that the team we have now is also a chance at winning us a flag too. We have to be carefull not to make too many changes to what is already a VERY good team that could very well win a flag THIS year and not in 5 years time!

Would u trade Haynes or move him to a forward flank if Woosha develops a young KPP into a full forward?

I would move him to a foward flank. I dont see the point of keeping him on the list for 4 years and when he finally starts to preform trade him!!

After watching Haynes a lot this year, he has gotten magnificent confidence now, and I believe he is actually one of the best leaders in the competition. He leads hard, strong, fast and 99% of the time beats his opponent to the ball by a couple of metres. He's hands sometimes let him down, but not often, but his kicking does quite a bit, especially from set shots.

He's future will be determined by how Johnson and Hansen come along. If one of those two shows great promise at FF, then they'll play there with Haynes a third tall in the forward line in either the pocket or the flank, with Doogs/Gaspar at CHF.

If Jonno or Hansen fizzle out, I'd see Haynes as being a part-time full forward rotating between that role and a flanking third tall role, with the likes of Cox, McDougall, Gardiner, Gaspar and whoever else also rotating through FF to give them a bit or respite and not allow the opposing fullback to get used to playing on one man, rather they'd have a new guy come down to FF every 10-15 minutes........

i think that he is playing as a forward flanker at the moment out of the goal square. ok that's a long shot but he is definatly leading quite far up the ground to get his kicks. he's turning into a great marking player. he's improving on his passes as well.

If we can get a good FF going then Id like to see him on the HFF somewhere where we can take advantage of his marking prowess!

I think Wilson knows it too. I thought his body language in the last game he played showed that.

You have to remember it was against Carlton. Was Martin ever going to match him for pace? No way!!

BTW, I do think he's our best option at FF for the minute.
