Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Rawlings almost delisting material at the Bulldogs at the moment? If he wasn't on contract I think he'd get the flick.

If that is the case, then I think the Bulldogs would let him go for a 4th rounder and pay some of the salary if someone wanted to take care of his contract.

Quite possibly vlad and it's in this scenario that I actually wouldn't mind going ahead with it. Lose little, maybe gain little, but maybe gain a bloke who's finally got his dream spot with his bro and one who COULD provide backup now that Colby's gone.

Not a bad scenario but it'd be a difficult one for us to deliver. The Dogs will go for all they can get. If they wash their hands of him then it'd be a chance.

It would be be the most baffling, of let's be honest, many baffling decisions during this time of year that Laidley has made.

I would be genuinely p1ssed of if Jade Rawlings was at North next year.

Just out of interest, which are the 'many' baffling decisions. I can think of one.

Was this all Laidley's work FmM?
It's institutionalised bad decision making. Why did we bother on a small, not overly quick, not overly skilled plodder with no goal sense (Watson) at pick 15 or whatever it was. Id venture to say we have made more howlers than the average bear

Maybe 'many' was a little excessive. ;)

- I am convinced that we gave up too much for Thompson. Always will be.
- Shane Harvey
- Picione
- Chasing the crap out of Rawlings, which was a terrible decision only saved by the Bulldogs being smartarses

I though his best effort was his first. Got Brown to the footy club, won a trade with Stevens and Cochrane and hit the draft real hard. Since, I think he has erred on the side of misjudged short sightedness, even if all the deals have not eventuated.

Knees, those things between your hips and feet. Useful for moving. Why would we want Rawlings ? Why don't we just set up a recruiting office down at the local rehab hospital and see if we can recruit a few players with brain tumors, cancer or need hip replacements.

I heard the hawks are making a move to get brady, as he is not contracted!
so I find it hard to believe!
Dunno if that would be true. Great player, but why would we go for another tagge? Also, why would he come to Hawthorn after we stuffed up his brother's plans?

Well you wouldn't and he wouldn't.

My humble guess is that it's rubbish.

FWIW I think if the trade did happen then you would get him relatively cheaply. If Rawlings is being shopped around then it would be more than likely that Eade is keen on moving him on more for salary cap reasons than anything else. For that reason I reckon you could get him just about nothing.

Not playing as bad a footy as some people suggest.People like to bash him a bit but before yesterday he had kicked 18 goals in 3 weeks at Werribee all against quality opposition. The only reason he wasn't getting a run in the seniors is .....

1.Eade doesn't want us to have more than one big tall inside 50 because he found earlier in the year that the ball was coming out to easily. This wont neccesarily be the case in a team that plays with a different structure.

2.Eade said many times prior to the season that one of his priorities was to find a young CHB and to blood some youngsters in KP.He certainly attempted to do this and it probably cost Rawlings the second half of his season.Eade played Hargrave at CHB which was a big success and trialled Wight,Bowden and Skipper in key positions with mixed results. There is no way we could have done that had we played Rawlings.Rawlings form before he got dropped was quite reasonable. He started the year spending long periods on the bench but then moved to defence and was taking the second or third tall every week and wasn't really beaten.Did a good job on Whitnall and Lade in the two weeks leading up to his last game.

You guys would know better than me if there is a spot for him in your side but just dont be sucked in by all the speculation about his form etc.
