David Koch - potential legend

I try to avoid mainstream news on TV as it tends to be crap, but I've noticed for the last couple of days that David Koch, once the specialist Finance reporter on Channel 7, has been put in to the breakfast slot as a news anchor with a blonde.

I reckon he's great! He actually seems passionate about issues.

This morning they had one Paul Mullen, from the Victorian Police Association, and some bloke from Canberra representing shooting groups. Mullen was absolute crap - he spent the entire interview whingeing about how few police there are (he must have said significantly under-resourced 10 times) and mouthing platitudes about "proactive instead of reactive".

But Koch didn't let him get away with it (or the other bloke). He'd ask the questions you wanted to hear - like "what does under-resourced mean - 30 % more cops or what?" and at the end just said -"well, I found that totally confusing and frustrating" - which it was.

Would that be Chris Reason? If it is, he would be straight off the assembly line of commerical TV news presenters, only capable of asking 'Dorothy Dixer' questions and not using any of their own thought and initative.

I like Kochy...but I hate change.

I don't think the network are allowed to get rid of Reason because (correct me if I am wrong) but he is on sick leave because he has cancer (I can't remember where).

I like Reaso as well anyway...would be happy with either!

Mullett is the police association secretary here in Victoria. I am not a great fan as all he seems to do is mouth platitudes. he is like most union leaders only intrested in the advancement of his members against the wishes of society.

Did this guy, David Koch, work as a licensed securities dealer (glorified financial planner) here in Adelaide?

If it's the guy I'm thinking of, he's already a very wealthy bloke.

Good question - I really don't know. You can see him on Channel 7 and I think he gets a lot of coverage on the website. Certainly a financial background.

Personally, I'm not a fan of Koch - he's a bit air-head I reckon, he and Melissa be air head together and it's just like lol sometimes

Nick Mc Ardle (the sports guy on the w/end i think) is getting a gig when Koch goes on leave soon or something ...

All I can really say it I'm glad it's not bloody Andrew Daddo!

oh, yeah, he's smart as in brains, but i reckon just some of the calls he comes out with and they way he giggles like a 2 y/o gets to me sometimes

I love David koch, he's the best thing to happen ot that show in a long time.

Chris Reason has lymphona, hope he gets better but never want to see him on Sunrise again.
