With Alastair Clarkson waiting in the wings and GWS already in the market for a new coach it makes sense for North Melbourne to make a move now as they've realised Noble isn't the man to lead them to their next premiership.

Transplants work in places that don't have an existing large interest in the game. Places like Tasmania that do, want their own identity, not someone else's.

Bull****. Would be quite a few who would take on the challenge and see it as a huge opportunity to prove themselves by turning the club around. That is why you coach for, to make a difference.

Normally the full support of the board means you're getting the arse.

Normally, but I'm sure they are acutely aware of how unappealing the job would be to anyone else. Only the truly desperate to coach a club would go now, and even then they are just as likely as Shaw (and Noble in this hypothetical) to end up on their arse, written off as a never again.

I think Noble will stick around mainly for that reason, and also because the playing list is also clearly awful. Can't fix this overnight. Might as well stick the course.

Giants position is vacant, geelong dominated and Ken has been linked to the Giants
Port's position becomes open and Port won't move until Ken accepts the role, to avoid a pay out and thus left with no choice but Chad

Schofield moved to the WCE as the coach in waiting and the time is ripe
Adam Simpson is a good coach and will be lured by the AFL to turn the clubs on fields fortunes around

Clarkson to Suns. He is ready to return t footy and........a big pay day awaits. After all this is the last roll of the dice before retirement. So pay will be more important than building a CV.
