One hopes that his debut as a senior coach goes better than his debut as a player.

Noble's debut AFL game for Fitzroy was in Round 6 1991 against Hawthorn at the North Hobart Oval. It didn't go very well. The Hawks went on a goal-scoring rampage, kicking a massive 36.15-231 to destroy the Lions (11.8-74) by 157-points, Fitzroy's worst ever defeat in their 100 seasons of AFL/VFL football.

Coaching options thin on the ground, it would seem, and North, taking a safe option in reaction to their previous reactive decision.

Collingwood's best assistant applied.

Unlike your best young talent though, we weren't able to facilitate an escape from the unfolding disaster at Fort Eddie's Ego.

Great bloke , fas fantastic for the lions , helped turn us around , deserves his chance to coach. Sad to see him leave but good on ya north , give him time

Of course North would take the cheap option who can multi task and perform both the head coach and head of football roles.

No, that's not what's happening.

I do note that your mob have fallen off a cliff since he left though.

Really? About as stupid a comment as has been posted this year, which is saying something.

Especially given what happened to Adelaide after he left.

I think that is Jaidyn Stephenson.
You bet it is.

Feel sorry for Robert Harvey. How many coaching jobs he been shortlisted for now and overlooked?

He Has not set the world on fire in his roles assistant at Carlton and Collingwood.

For where North is at, and for organic development of their youth and rebuild, David Noble is absolutely the right guy for the Roos.
