IIRC David Noble while he was with us indicated that he was keen on going down an administration path, pretty sure taking over from Greg Swann as CEO eventually was mentioned, Swann is in his 8th year as our CEO he might be up for a change of scenery... he did an 8 year stint as Magpies CEO and 7 years as Blues CEO so that seems to be about his length.

Although he may now have the coaching bug.

I'm guessing he will get headhunted by the next AFL CEO, amazing administration credibility.

He's a patsy!

Genuinely though, what's your opinion based on?
I just don't think Danny Daly further developed and progessed the Club’s football philosophy, framework and systems to achieve consistent premiership contending performance across the following areas:
  • High Performance Culture & Leadership
  • Football Development & Performance:
o Strategic list management & recruiting
o Football skills acquisition and development
o Game style strategy & coaching
o Player wellbeing & welfare
o Teaching & learning practices
o Physical Performance
o Staff development & performance
o Analytics, insights & innovation
  • AFL, Operations & Compliance Management
  • Management and development of elite training facilities
  • Overall management of the Club’s football investment and budget (including Total Player Payments)
  • Internal and external stakeholder engagement

Interesting perspective. I definitely feel the same way about Daly, but equally think it was a big jump up from Daly's previous role and did expect it would take some time for him to get to Nobles level. If Noble were keen to step back in I'm sure we'd find a position for him, but it would be interesting to see whether we'd want to try and get him back in his previous role or not. Could see him joining as a line coach and moving into admin when a role comes up.

I agree there’s some things on that list that concern me, but it’s pretty clear with a reduced soft cap, and being in a non footy state, it’s unrealistic to run that whole list.

If you’re serious, you’re basically turning over the whole off field staff.

And you really can only make that whole list if you’ve completed a review of the whole club, or have intimate working knowledge of the whole club.

they copy pasted that, you can find the document where its contained verbatim by pasting the post into google (it was published by Essendon)

Nice troll MO, LOL.

FORMER North Melbourne coach David Noble will assist St Kilda in a post-season review of its football operations.

The Saints have opted for a thorough review after a disappointing back-half of 2022. Brett Ratten's role as coach is not in question in the review, with the club seeking improvement in the responsibilities and roles of all key football department officials.

Noble's specific focus is yet to be finalised and there will be other senior football people asked for input.

St Kilda has already made approaches to have favourite son Lenny Hayes return to Moorabbin as part of the coaching structure for 2023 and beyond.

The club will also soon see the official transition of Simon Lethlean from chief operating officer to chief executive officer, with Matt Finnis choosing to exit the main administration post after nine years.

Noble was sacked by North Melbourne after round 17 this year. Before becoming Roos coach at the start of 2021, he had established himself as a high-end football department official at Brisbane Lions and Adelaide Crows.

I've lost all empathy for North. I dredged up some once they got in Noble as I like him.. but gee wizz.

Pathetic.

And a side note, I don't think Clarkson will be the panacea the media have made him out to be.

Guess all that and more will be answered next week on the drama-filled afl coaching roundabout....

I find it laughable that the media are saying that Clarkson should choose North Melbourne because he would get at least 3 years grace before making finals. Didnt Nobes have acid put on him from the start?
From memory the president (previous one) said the expectation was finals, before he had even coached a game

The whole messiah tag being attached to Clarko is utterly ridiculous.

He's said as much today and that he's embarrassed by it all being about him.

TBH if I'm Clarko, I' m taking Norf over Essendoom.

I think NM have conducted themselves more professionally, as opposed to the Bummers, who haven't even have the decency to formally divorce their previous partner in Rutten while at the same time chasing after a bit of new skirt.

If Clarko is a principled as everyone says he is, he should tell Essendoom to pi$$ off.

I will LOL when Essendon miss out! Not that it matters but they have further fractured their club. Even the Blues seem to slowly realising that it isn't the 21st century, but Essendon haven't.

Sitting in a room filled with cigar smoke some well dressed fellows contemplate a world where Windy Hill is not the centre of the universe ... glancing at one another they wordlessly come to a complete agreement that such a time and place is utterly inconceivable. They sit back, lift their snifters of brandy, and fondly reminisce about the days of Sheedy and Hird secure in the knowledge that the lesser clubs (other Vics) and the barbarians (non-Vics) will inevitably come to realise their true place ... such is the onward march of determined destiny to that wondrous and future paradise where black and red is all and all is red and black (selah).
