With every Victorian commentator salivating at the mouth, David did a good thing on talking footy last night and actually talked up the chance of Judd staying at West Coast. He basically said that although he might want to spend more time in Melbourne, he would be crazy to walk out on a club going places and that he thought he would stay. He also said he was a natural leader and would want to show some loyalty to the club that drafted him. Tim Watson also said he went down to his old school Caufield Grammar and spoke to the boys about forging loyalty with your team-mates etc It all makes a nice change from the Dermots of the world pushing their own agenda through the media.

Argh, and to think I decided to watch The Royal Tenenbaums instead of Talking Footy.

Nice to see someone who actually thinks he might stay, good on ya David!
No shame in that. The Tenenbaums is an interesting film ;)

Both David Parkin and Tim Watson said they feel Juddy will stay. It was one of the better Talking Footy programmes for a while. David Parkin is a very impressive man - you can see why he has been so successful for so long.
Best wishes to Tim's son Jobe who is to make his debut for the Bombers this weekend.

And if Judd does stay i reckon its safe to say no WCE supporter will question his loyalty as it IS a big decision to make. The deal would likely be 2-even 5 years long, which is a long time really in a players career. As much as we got Chicky now he was away for many years and ao if Judd did want to head to Vic its now to do it, so if he stays we know his heart is at WCE

(note - Chicks decision to come home was a LOT about events in his life, he had often stated his loyalty to Hawthorn even though he did always want to at some stage play back West)

Judd is young, staying in Perth for the short-term is no big deal, more like an extended holiday. ;) I think he will resign probably for another 3 to 5 years, but after that irrespective of his current intentions I would think there would be a huge motivation to go home.

He is only a kid, to live so far away from all your friends and family for a long time is really difficult. West Coast will more than likely trade him before that bug hits him.

We hung onto Pickett for too long, he wanted to go home and we convinced him to stay and it affected his football, he put in a mediocre year and we really didn't get good value out of him when we finally traded him to Port Adelaide.

When the body and spirit say its time then its time irrespective how loyal the player is to the club. Alot will depend on Judd's circumstances. Most interstate players want to go home eventually though, would be surprised to see Judd stay west for more than five years.

Hope that Judd stays at West Coast. All the other clubs need somebody to curb him

thanks for stating the obvious. of course all the other clubs need someone to reduce his impact on the field, as they do to reduce the impact of the other 21 players in the team on game-day. its the players jobs as employees of their football clubs...

Parkin was a very smart coach - he probably gave it away more for health reasons than enjoyment. I remember he got very animated when he was coaching Carlton - was able to see his veins popping out of his neck.

Seems that one network is saying Judd will go and another saying he'll show loyalty and stay.
